my limit is 8500 ish wit jam ecu and i used come fairly close :) then my engine went boom haha probably y and before u ask yes i had a vtec before and it revved to 9000ish was just natural to me to rev so close to the limit but i learned my lesson

Like blakchiney said, you guys seriously underestimate those motors. On my 5E, I cruise religiously above 4K RPM and shift at the limiter when I'm on it. So far, I put about 65K miles on it, driving it like a retard (as some people put it).

Also when getting close to 8.5K+ and rev happy, you guys should start considering the oil pump, which nobody mentioned yet.

my rev limiter is set to 8000rpms, but i shift well into the limiter around 8500rpms :)

you on standard springs or cruise ?? a lot of different opinions again on what standard parts can take lol

cruise springs mate, 5efhe cams and a ported n polished head with custom plenum & 60mm throttle body, power keeps coming all the way till the end.. ;)

I don't rev my scooby past 6,500 revs as there is no point pulls better when you change at that rev also scooby engines don't like to be revved and go cabooooom if the revved high. once set up and mapped find when your peak power is at what ever revs and go from there.

I never went past 6 just to be sure... everyone knows what happens when you rev the titties out of a Subaru, but like as said before why be limiting them when there is absolutly no point to it
