never raced a type r, but my glanza on 1bar ct9 is much quicker that my brothers mk1 focus rs, standing and rolling starts, 4th gear pulls, the lot..

rite so, sorry about not knowing my honda codes mate i tryed, best i can give u is 1.6 DOHC type r civic. maybe u should quit being a lawyer because if u where any good u might no am not bullshitin, why would i wast my time to bullshit about this.

Woah sorry dude, did you miss the part where i said " just banter dude no harm meant ".. and then used a universal symbol of :p to show it was toungue in cheek ???

Evidently you have nothing to gain by saying you beat 2 type R's but why use chassis codes if, as you say yourself, You do not know about Honda's... Surely thats just obvious on a car enthusiast forum. stop treating this like i started a fight with you. i corrected you thats how people learn. I did you a favour, you won't embarress yourself next time you say you beat an EK3 lol..

I just love how everything gets compared to a Honda. They must be doing something right.

That VW advert is bullshit, cause if you listen real closely it sounds just like a Honda :p

i have owned a civic coupe with a b16.....the lack of torque got on my nerves. had to thrash the life out of it to get it to go anywhere lol. i raced my brothers ep3 type r a couple of weeks ago and from a rolling start in 2nd i was level with him if not a head by the length of my bonnet up until 80-90mph then he started to get the legs on me, my ep82 is only running .75 bar

back to topic tho
im on my 4 starlet, had diffrent types of ct9 turobs, had the ct9a and ct9b, 3 diffrent ct9 hybrids turbos
with diffrent set up and now td04 on my currant glanza nd whished i had went down the td04 rouite on my first starlet.
yes you get a a bit more lag, but you just adapt your driving style so you always sat around the 4k mark for instant boost and you dont notice the lag, if any thing its nice as you can drive around of boost if you need to around town.
you get bags more tourque and the power just keeps coming with a td04 unlike the ct9 the drops of high in the revs. i would recomemnd going for a drive in a modded ct9 turbo at 1 bar then a td04 set up properly and that should help make up your mind

my td04 at 0.8bar unmapped and no fueling mods apart from a 255 pump eats ep3 import type r's :) And spuddy you right so many people have the same goal lol to beat a type r :) that was mine too for a good bit of time too!

Go td04 the lag is worth it ! its not even that bad really and if you find it bad there are things to help drop spool time might not get it down much but will help !! witht he right td04 set up you can see 220-230 bhp and your turbo hitting full boost around 3600-3800!

i find the td04 is quite good on the ep85 as its a low ratio box. i can imagine the lag may get a bit tedious on a GT or glanza as it would take an age to get going.

it is like anything, its what suits your driving style and how you use/drive the car. i personally prefer my hybrid ct9 GT as the relatively instant response is far more satisfying :)

i dont understand why people moan about the lag, its not bad at all, i at full boost 1.05bar at just under 4k, i kinda like the lag its like foreplay, you know exactly whats going to happen next,:haha:

you just got to change your driving style a little bit and im always ready for instant boost. like doing 30 in 2nd, 40 in 3rd ect ect, i just love the popping i get out my exhaut when sat a bit higher up in the revs and my v seams to be like it a lot and the fuel last longer crusing in slighly higher rev range

i would strongly recommend going in a ct9 powered starlet and a td04 powered starlet and see for your self. it depends what you want the car for and how you drive like dac69er said. i prefer the td04 as if i want i can cruse on the motor way off boost were as with the ct9 your constantly on boost on the motor way and love the extra torque and pulling power of the td04 but it needs to be set up properly and that the the key point people forget to work in to ther budget, getting ether a piggy back or stand alone wired in and mapped

CT9 is a fine turbo and i like very much the response of it but i don't change my setup now for a CT9 even if its hybrid..I run now a forged 4E with a VF24 boostin at 1.6 and although the CT9 spooled around 1500rpms earlier i don't change the feeling and the torque of the VF series turbo..

Is there any way that fitting some decent upgraded camshafts can help with the top end power when used with a CT9... or is it simply not fowing enough air to be able to make the power up top..

i think turbo is great fun, nothing beats watching a Ford mondeo pull away from you at the lights until you hit boost and then you roar past... i F**king love it lol..

It al depends on what u want out of your car I'm now on a tdo4 at 1 bar and hit full boost at like 3800rpm with a good map on my emanage from tuning developments and the difference between that and my ct9 set up is immense not only
The noise but the fact I can now cruise round off boost or on motorway then when doing some spirited driving lets say the extra power and torque is great

very debatable... My type R was hitting 13.7 quarter... Just depends what type R your on about lol. An d 0.5 bar a TD04 isnt doing alot so id doubt it would beat any type R in all honesty lol

Il have to agree with triple j my TD04 Glanza was beating my friends Type r all day at .5 bar boost, launching, rolling start you name it.

If your trying to decide to go for a TD04 or stay CT9 lad i personally would go for the TD04 its wicked fun, nice pull off it and quick enough to beat those Honda Heads haha :)
