Hey fellas

My Glanza is due a service and I need to replace the following parts:

Front & Rear pads (standard)
Air Filter
Fuel Filter
Oil & Oil Filter
Spark Plugs
Window Wipers
Dizzy Cap
Rotor Arm

I am based in Dublin, Ireland

Can someone please tell me which of the parts I listed above can be purchased in my local motor factors and which parts I would need to buy online? ( I used to buy all my service parts from dave burwash so I'm kind of out of the loop)

For the parts I need to buy online, can anyone suggest the cheapest place to buy them?

I'd also like the recommendation of a reasonably priced competant mechanic In Dublin, Ireland if anyone has one because I think I need a ball joint/ joint replaced and I will need the service completed too

All comments/opinions appreciated

thanks in advance

Cheers

Alan

only awkward one is the window wipers. depends if you have the original screw on type or they have been upgraded with adapters to the clip on type.

i get a large majority of my parts off ebay, but you do need to be savvy when buying off ebay as you can get caught out with incorrect items as sometimes they arent described very well or incorrectly.

Any 4EFTE after Jan 1992 is clip type. Or you can look at the leads on your car to make certain.

And local motorfactors are even cheaper than camskills in most cases. If you do a bit of digging locally you can save ££ so ask any EP owners you see on your travels for contacts.

depends what the parts are. toyodiy is your friend as you can cross referrence part numbers to uk spec cars and then get parts that will fit fine from motor factors. the distributor cap has to be genuine though :(

Thanks for the replies fellas,

picked up alot of the stuff I needed at the local motor factors

just back from a garage and it turns out my passenger cv joint in on the way out and needs to be replaced.

I found this and this on camskill but not sure which is the correct one that i need. Can somebody please tell me which cv joint kit from the 2 camskill links above will fit my 97 glanza?

Also I wondered do the products I linked to above come in a set of 2 or would I have to order twice if I wanted to replace drivers and passengers side cv joint

Thanks lads

The do not come in pairs and the only way to find out which ones you need is to take off the C.V jonit which is on your car and count the splines there is no other way of finding out.

98% of the time they are 23/30 cvs - Camskill have no stock of 23/23 and don't intend to re stock anytime soon because hardly anyone orders them.

That's what the manager told me.

I risked it and both mine were 23/30's like the vast majority.

thanks for the replies lads, i might just take the gamble and go for the 23/30

only one cv joint is going... would you recommend replacing just that one or replacing both?

Do i also need to buy the inner or outer cv boot kit or just the outer cv kit i linked to above

sorry about all the questions lads, i just want to make sure i order the right stuff

thanks again for all replies

The joint will come with a new boot, clips, grease, everything you will need, and as above most likely it will be 23/30
