It is losing coolant and there appears to be water leaking between the head and block behind the manifold/PS pump.

I think the only reason she's not actually overheated is the rad, it's rediculously efficient. If the top tanks are too hot to touch, the bottom ones are ice cold .

ah apologies mate, thought it just once overheated and you assumed it had gone.

Nah, overheated a couple of times on a track, not been on since I've fitted the new rad but I wouldn't want to take her round TBH.

But yeh, I'm open to offers (despite my rant a few posts ago :p)

I would try and get somone to look over the car and confirm if there is an exact fault and how much it is to fix.

When looking to buy a new car, I personally would never buy something with potential head gasket problems.

I've sold a few cars much less than they have been worth in the past and regret it but you never know how long you are going to have to wait for a buyer.

I would advertise your car on ebay with no reserve. Email all the watchers to let them know. Get someone to look over your car and give their best estimate of what needs doing and include that in the advert.

Then get someone to put a bid on ebay for you to make sure it hits your reserve. The high start price will put people off.

I hope that helps.

I don't like advertising a car with a reserve and low start bid, because you watch the bids creep up slowly and never meet the reserve price. I'd rather just start the bidding off at the minimum I want for the car (Which several have said is cheap) and go from there.

The problem I have is that my next car is literally waiting for me to pay for and drive away, something I can't do until the Starlet is sold. If I could afford to buy the next car and drive that while the Starlet is being fixed, then I would do that, but I can't. The other issue is that I don't have the time to fix the Starlet because the other car is waiting.

Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to Catch 22 :(

I had the same dilemma but I decided to borrow enough money to buy the Evo and then I can sell the GT at my leisure. I am going to keep the GT in the garage until it's sold anyway so no harm done.

Well, my mate says the new car needs to be shifted by the end of the month, and the Parents are willing to lend me the money if the Starlet hasn't sold by then.

So, err, *bump*, because she's still for sale. Come on. £2995 and I'm open to offers. :homer:

Absolute bargain at that price, seems to be a bad time to sell at the moment by looking around at other sale threads, best of luck Monk :)
