Fix the CV joint yourself, rip her apart and find out definitively whether or not their is HGF. If not, re-list with no problems and hope she sells! If so; 1) fix it 2) lie about it (shame on you! But its up to you!)

i think mrs fish would have something to say bout that lol :p

i beleive the whole point of monky to be selling was to buy a house or something

Indeed. The Starlet has put me in debt, and it's keeping me there. I have Bob Hope and no hope of being able to buy a house if I keep her. I'll buy another one, but when I have the money to spend on it. :)

I've re-listed her for now, I'll see what happens. If she doesn't sell this time round, I'll fix her. No way in hell am I selling a car as being perfect when I know full well it's not. I have a conscience and I'd rather not have some pissed off person banging my door down 3 weeks later.

Yeah I agree, but its just a matter of how badly you want it gone, if you are REALLY desperate, i.e. need the money BADLY, you could be a c*nt, change the coolant/temp sensor etc, hope the HG is fine and sell it on. But that would be mega-harsh and I don't condone such behaviour. Shit suggestion tbfh, my bad!

I want her gone, but not that bad. I'm not that sort of person anyway, I'd rather be honest, then the buyer knows exactly what they're getting.

I'll see how it goes at 3k start, if she doesn't sell, I'll look into repairing her. Not sure how it'll stand with the replacement, I'm buying it off a mate and I don't want to mess him about. Cross that bridge once I've got there though.

:)

Fuck me sideways. Got people asking me...

"how much will you take as you've had no bids?"

and

"Will you take £XX.XX (Far less than 3k) as that's all I have to spend?"

I really don't see why people offer such rediculous amounts for a car that is already priced well below the market average. Am I missing the point here or something? Jesus. I know full well what the car would be worth if faultless, and I've priced to reflect that (As confirmed by sx_turbo's "omg that is cheap" comment earlier), yet I still get emails offering rediculous sums of money. Will I accept said offers? In short...

:flame: NO, I FUCKING WON'T! :flame:

i hate those people that just want somthing thats really good for pennys. you get what you pay for they just dont get that.

personally i think the price is too low, even with the faults.

Theres always hope then mate. Its a shame though, she's a lovely car, and if it was anyone else selling it (almost anyone) those small flaws would be hidden away.

Theres a lot to be said for your honesty Monkfish :)

Hope she goes to a new home soon mate

Yeh, I know. She didn't sell :(. I can bet if I'd listed her with no faults, she'd have sold first time round, then I'd have had all manner of abuse on here when the owner realises all is not well. Instead, I choose to be honest about the faults, under-price her by £750 and get nothing (Apart from rediculous offers).

I can't fucking win :(.

mate if its not overheated since, its not using coolant, its not spitting out clouds of white smoke and its not got any mayo in your oil just why are you listing it as a possible head gasket failure?

im not trying to be rude mate i just think hes selling himself short, but if its not showing any symptoms of h/g failure then how does he know?

It is losing coolant and there appears to be water leaking between the head and block behind the manifold/PS pump.

I think the only reason she's not actually overheated is the rad, it's rediculously efficient. If the top tanks are too hot to touch, the bottom ones are ice cold .
