i am with dylan and jay on this one.

i feel for there family's more than them though.

and they done the crime, and they (unfortunately) paid the highest price for there stupidity.

i'm a great beleiver in second chances, it's a shame they didnt get a second chance after this.

R.I.P.

i agree with sx ^^^.

Surley most people deserve a second chance?

is a car worth more than a life?

from some users over here yes. :)

we all love our cars and we all know how much we spend on them and surely anyone from here whants there car stolen... but i prefer to catch the guy and beat him then know hes dead. maybe he will learn and he won't touch another car. but guess thats just my point of view and what i learnt in my life.

Personally, I think the number of people who re-commit crimes shows how over-rated second chances are.

Sure in a perfect world it'd work like people imagine it should. But in reality it doesn't

No they dont. Thats whats wrong with this country. Too many people with rose tinted glasses that think these idiots can change.
I dont wish anybody to be killed I do fell sorry for the medics, police, fire service etc that has to witness the horrific scene's.
I dont feel sorry for the parents. They should have tried harder. I would never do anything like that because I was aware that I would have to face my parents.

Im not getting into the subject of people dying in this and all but I found this interesting.

At 27, having moved back with my folks, I live in constant fear of them, I respect them, and out of respect, it would break my heart knowing I had dishonoured them.

There was a 15 year old buried this week involved in something similar in Northern Ireland, he was cadging a lift home from a houseparty they gatecrashed, took the keys to a jeep belonging to the houseowner, and sadly died in a crash at 5am in the morning....

Now im from the camp that would say he wouldnt deserve to die, but the press made him out to be a tragic saint, but yet when I was 15, I wouldnt dream of being out to 5am, or indeed drinking, for fear of my parents.

where were his parents? ***alledgedly*** they knew he was out and about doing this?! surely they must wish they walked the child down a different path?

my dad got his taxi stolen few months back, the hoods from dungannon hi jacked the taxi driver and took the taxi (probably 1 of the best taxis)

they then killed a ran, tried driving over him etc etc

but the hateful thing is he stil hasnt seen the money for the car! and there was 2 people hurt by getting hit by the taxi so there probably be claim coming through! so it will be coming of his fleet insurance!

Don't think they deserve a 2nd chance!!!!!!!!!

sorry to hear that hazey.

Years ago I had my car jacked, simply because the paramilitary hood, who was on good friday release THAT DAY, didnt have money for a taxi, and decided he wanted to drunkenly take my car and take his mates home.
Im STILL paying for that car.

He (your father) has my full sympathy.

well he could went out at the middle of the night without his parent knowing (used to do this myself) OR his parents didnt give a shit and would leave him do anything he wants. BUT as this thread is on these 4 kids/adults call them whatever you want, we cannot judge there parents as we know nothing about them.

sometimes the more your parent tell you THIS IS WRONG the more you want to do THAT and see yourself if its wrong or no. we can go on with this post after post..... so think everyone made his point eh?:)

Bingo!!!

your point about sneaking out in the middle of the night.
I was to scared to do this, as I knew it would disappoint my parents, but some kinds just dont give a damn what their parents think. What im trying to get to the bottom of is why???

Im not criticising in any way, just trying to understand more

at that age if my friends did so i would have done like them... but i will never put it on my parents as they done everything they could for me! when something happend(i dont whant to discus this on here) then i knew how much i did disaponte them! and had to learn the hard way.

what im saying is that peerpresure sometimes is stronger then your parents! :)

Still doesn't make stealing a car acceptable, or evading the Police, or anything else for that matter.

I fail to see the arguement here, it seems some people are contradicting themselves.

Saying you could be peer-pressured into doing something, despite the fact that you wouldn't do it yourself, because your parents taught you.

If all parents raise the kids well, no one would be peer-pressuring you into doing things you shouldn't be doing. Everyone would know what is and is not acceptable.

Nothing personal, it just seems like wierd circular logic to me.

Parents can't be blamed -> Parents give children a sense of right and wrong -> you know what wrong is -> you could be peer pressured -> someone else doesn't know what wrong is -> Parents taught them incorrectly?

Surely the parents fault then? Directly or Indirectly, it is...

you know wat the problem is with the world?

too many rules and regulations that stop proper punishments being handed out.

think back to the time when schools were actually in control and were allowed to give out the cane etc? i bet if you asked your parents they feared headmasters etc and wouldnt act up, and if they did they got the punishments they deserved.

thats why the world used to be atleast half in control.

but nowadays young kids can just get away with any shit they want, and its just reversed teachers are scared of students and wat they will do i personally think its very sad.

instead of just throwing people in cells with playstation 3 and tv's with 3 square meals a day they should be put out to the coal mines or we should bring back being put into the army instead, they should have to fight for there lives not our brave soldiers.
