what does a 4-efe to 4-e-fte convertion entail????

-engine,with turbo, intercooler, manifold, and cat and front pipe, you will need a front mount intercooler too as the stock one won't clear the na bonnet
-clutch
-gearbox not 100% necessary to start with but obviously a good idea
-ecu - EP82 is an easier job than 91
-wiring loom again, easier with the 82 one, remember to get the map sensor too
-back axle with discs etc(optional) meh, on a car like this drums will work just as well

i no
--------------------------------------------
starter yep
alternator nope
coil and ignitor yep
wishbones and driveshafts nope
engine mounts nope
front axle?? nope

i dont no,

if ive left out anything, please feel free to say

I thought you were asking about actually turning the 4EFE engine into a 4EFTE... Turbo conversion.

Thats why i said you might as well just swap the engine over, as converting to turbo will not be worth the hassle.....

There's two approaches when fitting the 4EFTE into a non-turbo model:

1) Plug and Play
2) Cut and Splice

The plug and play approach is basically reshelling the turbo model into your current car whereas the Cut and Splice involves fitting the engine and adapting your current engine loom to run the 4EFTE.

Both approaches require:

Engine
Sensors
Exhaust system
Engine loom
Front mount intercooler
4EFTE ECU
Boost gauge

The Plug & Play also requires:

Interior dash loom
4EFTE Dash cluster
Various 4EFTE switches

It really depends on what sort of work you prefer when choosing between them. The labour-intensive Plug & Play or the headscratching wiring of the Cut & Splice.

In addition the non-turbo gearbox isn't renowned for it's strength. It's worth fitting a 4EFTE box or at least having one on standby for emergencies.

On the safety front brakes should be upgraded to Turbo-spec immediately. An often overlooked item is the one-way valve on the brake servo pipe which is a safety feature on the turbo models. This vastly improves brake response if braking hard immediately after or during boost. As a rule, the rear drums don't do enough to warrant immediate replacement but a rear disc conversion is a great upgrade both practically and visually.

Hopefully that might help you a little, apologies if I have missed anything.

what does a 4-efe to 4-e-fte convertion entail????

-4e-fte engine
-turbo
-fmic
-manifold
-cat
-front pipe,
-clutch
-gearbox
-ecu - EP82 On an EP91 Plug & play should be EP91
-wiring loom again
-map sensor too
-coil and ignitor
-starter
- Throttle position sensor
- Knock sensor
- Oil feed & return pipes
- Thermostat housing with temp sensors
- Throttle cable (might only be when moving from 2E to 4E)
- Fuel rail and injectors
- Idle control valve

I could go on but most of these will be part and parcel of the engine you buy

optional
-back axle with discs etc
- Front pads, carriers and discs
- Brake servo valve

any other bits???

Added in yellow mate.

It's usually a good idea to try and get them all from the one place. Print that list and take it with you to whatever breaker you are heading to. Then you can make sure you got what you need before agreeing anything. :)

If going plug and play make sure it's an EP91 V you are using as a donor car otherwise the dash cluster, switches and other bits will be a ballache to sort.
