a 4efe crank is hollow, 4efte is solid

every crank is hollow mate. they carry the oil inside to feed the conrod bearings. and also the 4efe cranks of 1998 onwards are marked 4et and are exactly the same as the 4efte cranks, journal sizes and everything are the same, i am 100 percent confident about this.

X2 on that, but from experience of a crushed bearing as I said its worthwhile checking clearances. I use plastigauge so if its to tight its to late and thats how i damaged a bearing but better knowing then rather than later :homer:

lol, o dear, yes i know every crank has oil passages. but i said it was hollow as in the mains journals and big ends aren't solid but thin walled ie a big hole in them.

a 4et crank is a turbo crank hence it being the same. I'm not surprised that after 1998 a 4efe has a turbo crank, Toyota have a habit of stuff like this. a corolla 4efe has a turbo crank and rods
