I definetly dont. B16B can be made to run 9secs and less if done up well. Check some America Civic sites and you'll see guys. Never saw a starlet even run 10s

From what i have gathered the b16 base unit is suttle in standard form and requires at least an 1800cc stroker kit to perform to a high standard in n/a form, turbocharging is the only other big bhp getter. stroked b16 1/4mile and costs is the info im after now, any help? cheers

what is lsvtec?

is it an lsi 1.8 bottom end or a sohc or dohc b18

Here in the States our Integra's came in 3 different engine packages. LS/GS, GSR, and Type R. the LSVtec is a combination of the B18c1 from the non-Vtec LS series (basically the cheap run of the mill Integra) and a Vtec head, usually a B18a2 unit from the 1999-2000 SI civic. Its a 1.8 liter by spec, but with the better flowing B16 head and higher compression

well give a b16 7psi on a t3/t4 & well see what is better down the strip ;)

im sure most of u know they can take that boost on stock internals.. turbo +9000rpms = well we all know the outcome ;)

But the B16 turbo will be the first one broken down on the side of the motorway :p. They can handle big power...but not for very long

Honestly, for big power not many ppl here use B16's. they are great motors but most ppl go with B18's/H22's/K20's/B20's etc. Especially for track racing

B18, B16 and B20 share the same block mate :p Its just a different crank and stroke.

pointless trying to build a type r engine/car mate,as its much much different than the vti/sir/sir2,the ek9 suspension is totally uprated, chassis is seem welded for ridigidy(spelling:p)lighter shell, thinner glass,no sound deadning etc etc.....

the b16b is basically a de-stroked version of the teg r engine, the b16b actually has a more agressive cam than the teg r engin hence why teg owners are keen to use a civic type r head on their b18c....

this is my final setup, should be complete very soon

Apexi power fc & Commander vtec @ 5500-9500RPM
TODA spec B camshafts,valvesprings,sleeves retainers....
TODA adjustable camgears
BUDDYCLUB head gasket
Billion racing cold air feed
ARP head bolts
Skunk2 pro series intake mani
SPOON throttlebody
J;s Racing carbonfibre intake
HONDA timing belt (just done on 54k kms last week) 33k genuine miles
HONDA distributer (just done on 54k kms last week)
5zigen Pro racer 4-2-1 manifold
5zigen decat pipe
5zigen Pro racer catback
Tein type flex coilovers
Cusco front strut brace
Dc sports rear brace
Cusco lower tie bar
Cusco engine mounts
J's Racing c pillar brace
Exedy stage 2 clutch and lightened flywheel
semi sequential gearbox
4.785 final drive
Skunk2 quickshifter
0.10mm head port and polish
J's racing sump baffle
Cusco rad cap
HKS oil cooler + relocation kit
Mugen fan switch
J's racing thermostat
Carbing cooling plate
Spoon radiator stay
Stripped rear
im sure i forgot a few mods

dunno what bhp this will make mate:homer: with a stroker kit it will make about 260bhp+ thats some power for a n/a!!

yup this is some power for n/a can you get the RR print out for this bhp :D

to be fair tho, these civics that run 9's etc arent exactly standard b16's tho are they like your saying they all use the 1800 bottom end.

so you could use the same arguement and say a 5efte with a td05 etc and see wat kinda times they run? ive never seen one do a qm on that spec but who knowS?

Admit it lads in the standard form the 4efte isn t as reliable as a b16.

wat ya mean not reliable. here ya doing is comparing 1.6 vs 1.3 ..how about 5efte vs b16 :D ..

still 4efte will be quick of the line ...

how about raise the boost on wee little turbo and see what does vtech doo:p

How many Ct9 s Have failed (alot) and how many V tech systems have failed (Very Little), We re talking standard here i don t recall toyota making a 5efte,

In my eyes reliability is the main thing, theirs no point paying tax, insurance, and MOT if your cars parked up being repaired the whole time.
