'Aggressive clutch' killed my new forged engines thrust bearings?!

unfortunately the company is lying to you,

i will refer to a friend of mine who is currently running 200bhp in his mini, because they have such small clutches in mini's getting high torque and power figures is a pain in the arse, he has had to go for what they call in the mini system a double grey clutch diaphram (funny clutch setup on the old mini's),

any way, basicly his clutch pedal is so stiff, you have to literally jump on it to change gear, and when the clutch is depressed it the engine revs drop right down, he has had to up the engine revs to 1100 rpm on idle so as it dont stall when pulling away,

now he has been running for 8000 miles now and his engine is still as smooth and quiet as the day he fitted it,

the other argument you have is that virtually everyone running more than a ct9 turbo has the same clutch kit and none that i know of have had there engine ruined by the clutch.

i know of a very good engineer who can make you up a legal damage report, and pinpoint the cause of the failure, he has won many cases against big manufactures like bmw and bentley etc, and he's not very expensive either, he gave me lots of help when i had troubles with TMD.

imo they are spinning you a line so you foot the bill to rebuild because of bad workmanship, may just be a simple mistake but either way if you paid to have the engine assembled by them, i have NEVER known a clutch to destroy bearings, things like the flywheel being distorted or out of balance with the crank yes but clutch no.

I would hope that from the letter that you have sent/emailed to them that they would certainly reconsider their verdict and rectify the situation however I would suggest what sx-turbo has suggested and get a full engine report by someone completly independant before taking the car back to them so you have some solid evidence as to what REALLY happend to it.
