Am I about to be scammed?!

sounds like hes just an importer for Malta. I guess people tell him what they want ("i want a starlet") and he imports them for them to buy - saves hassle on the buyer and it increases profit on the importer.

But the way he deals is rather.. well... strange to say the least.

Personally, let someone UK based buy it, save hassle.

whats strange about that? lol... he pays and gets the car.. like anyone in the UK

he rang on the 6th at 4.10pm if thats round about the same time cornish??
like u said this person who called sounded very well strange didnt ask to many question really but i did like the feel of it so just said o i sold it.

Only just thought now has it was a wierd number that rang and thought it was that phone safe stuff

so maybe his client saw some glanzas he reaaly liked.. yours was "Sold" so he went to the next one..:) (cornish one)

o yea see what your sayin like i said in PM what ppl sound lie on phone and are in person are 2 different things,
He sounded dodgy on th ephone to me but in reality he could be the most genuine guy out there :D

As said before make sure you take people with you and also if he is genuine im sure he wont mind if you get the money checked, i had a scam a while ago when selling my teg sound's similar to this bar this guy is coming to collect it supposedly.

right now cars from the uk are flooding the island so it wouldn't be a surprise that a maltese is interested in your glanza. probably have seen it on pistonheads or somewhere and told the guy to contact you. glanzas in the uk are more available than over here and with your weak sterling at the moment and a lowered registration tax are making maltese take advantage of this not to mention that your prices were always lower than ours.

exactly. a friend of mine told me its somethinkg like eur600 tax you need to pay for a manual glanza and eur800something on an automatic one.

absolutely cheap and you would finish getting the bargain of the century. take wes-gt's glanza for example. he's asking 10000euros if i'm not wrong. add 600 and you've got one hell of a glanza!! lm4550!!!!!!!!!

you can tell him that you know many people from malta... malta is very small and easy to track people down as you may know :)

good luck... tell him to ask the new owner to join over here!

just don't be afraid of being scammed mate. may be he got all the info he needed from the advert and if he needs to know more he'll be asking more questions when he meets you. some things are better discussed and seen personally.

yep... automatic glanzas gos for lm700 from the uk and in a good condition.. that would make a good everyday car :)

im gonna get one at a later stage for sure!

tell him you can't meet tomorrow. Meet in the bank and don't take cash. sounds very intriguing. how can someone buy a car just like that? hasn't even driven it!!
