it is seems to be holding boost ok when it works. its just the odd time it overboost as if the boost has been adjusted

mike can you supply picture of how you have it mounted please? ie positinon of the selionoid thing and vac lines.

i know i have it plumbed in right. its just that its quite a distance from the turbo and cant find a better place. also what earth and ignition positive you used?

i have it just sitting on top of where the orignal hi/lo boost solenoid is with the vac lines going to the actuator and turbo just kinda thrown in there if ya get me.ill get ya a pic in a bit.

i know where you mean mate. a pic would be nice so i can see how you have mounted it.

@dub, where do you have your solonoid mounted?

i didnt think i would but the instruction say to use the shortest vac route mate

im trying to eliminate stuff, i know its plumed in right, i know its wired in right, i know i set it up right...........but i also know it aint fucking working right!

When i was researching Megasquirt i found they had done research into the difference between short and very long ( > 3m) vac lines and there was no real difference.

The reason they did this testing is because they have ma sensors built into the ecu so the vac line needs to go all the way to the ecu

no it's just by the EWG, shortest pipe run possible.

basically, it's acting exactly the same as yours, kierz, but on a different turbo/wastegate setup.

its doing my nut. ive re checked everything again tonight so will see how it goes again tommorow.

i know its nothing to do with my turbo setup as its been running perfect for so long with out an ebc.

i dont feel confident in booting it anymore at all as god knows what the boost will do.

im gonna be going external wastegate and bigger turbo next week and i want this issue resolved before i put it on or its gonna be 0.5bar all the way on th wg spring, until i can trust this ebc

while we on the subject... does the ebc box make a springy noise when you spool up

its the solenoid venting air out that makes that fluttery noise not the ebc box.

The problem i have with mine is that since i fitted it performance went down , it does boost up faster and keep the boost but car feel slugish and turbo spool up is slower than with just the acuator

lol omg NOW this thread starts, just as i fitted a HDI EBC.

i must say i fitted mine on the stock actuator, just to see how it works.
(got an hks actuator ready to be installed)

boost a steady 10.5psi with dials turned all the way down.

Didn't have any problems to date, but only running for a week with it yet.

i got the dual ebc with gauge and no boost switch.

Just to add another problem with the Hdi EBC into the mix. I can't adjust boost with mine? I have the SBC Type-D. Absolutely nothing happens when I turn either of the knobs. Also, high boost setting is runng the low boost pressure and low boost is running the high boost. It's only been like that since I had a new engine fitted, it was fine before. I have checked the vac lines and they are fine. Port 2 going into actuator, port 3 going to turbo and port 1 left open.

Anyone have any suggestions on how the hell I can adjust boost with my "Oh so great" boost CONTROLLER.

Im not saying that its not good it does what it state to do boost goes up earlier an holds there maybe i have to map the ecu for it as now im getting 12psi of boost @ 2,000 rpm where before i use to get 8psi at 3,000rpm .

Bump this up as it is really pissing me off now. Tried swapping vac lines and no joy. Switched them back and in both modes it is now running 0.7 bar  Before it was 0.8 and 1.3-1.4.
