Anyone running speedvision injectors?

exactly, weve been advised by many local tuners that fd injectors are a big nono on internal combustion engines.. best go for sard 550cc's

which i dont get as ur using a k24 so technically 330cc's would be sufficient at 3.2bar fuel pressure...

then again u brits & ur tuners tend to go for over safe af's... so that explains all the need of all the access fuel...

we bought sard 550cc injectors read above not for our car:flame:

Speedvision -

I have no problems with you mate, you know I have bought a few bits off you in the past and you happily replaced a faulty set of injectors I had. All I am saying is, NOBODY seems 100% sure if these injectors are totally safe to use. All I am saying is, because of this, it would of been nice to know where the injectors came from, so I could make my own decision.

Hybrid - You don't understand what I meant. Does not matter anyhow. By the way, you say they were designed to 'flood' the rotary engine. How much can this actually be adjusted? Since moving from 330cc to these Maza 550cc I have lost 50+ miles per tank, doing the same amount of driving a week.

well based on the aus, caribbean and uk starlet sites....over the years, it has been said that the mazda injector spray pattern differs from that of the standard starlet/toyota injectors...mazda tends to "flow in a stream with a little mist"...while the toyota tend to "spray like a powerful mist"

also many respected tuners (on these sites) have commented on having issues with rotary 550 injectors---and i mean in relation to several different ecu and piggy back set ups.........so that says something

however, it seems to be predominantly the mazda 55o injectors that give this issue that some have experienced........as most have not had trouble with the mazda 330cc, 380cc or 460cc

and your fuel consumption is normal for 550cc....the issue is thaton idle and cruise, the ecu probably cant control them enough the maintain a lean afr.....so its runing richish on the crusie/idle and drinkiing too much fuel..........while on the top end/high boost it will run ok and burn off the excess fuel

that's why tuners always say to get the smallest injectors that will handle your power......in your case maybe 460cc may be better suited

its very hard for "relatively ok" ecus to control excessively bigger injectors in leanish conditions.....

and sam has stated on the other site that his injecotrs are from mazda....he's always been up front with this ---just for anyone's information:p

Not saying he is a dishonest person. I simply did not know they were from Mazda.

i know you are not saying the gee....and i know both u and me and many others hold sam in high regards----i have nothing but praises for him:) personally

i was just letting others on the site know that he does mazda injectors....though i think he can get other brands also....depends

In regards to 460's. What is the max HP you think they are good for? I maybe going for some headwork in the future, so might be an idea to stick with the 550's? Its a bit overkill for my current 275hp thou :(

yeah 550cc's are overkill for 275bhp lol..

im pretty sure its down to the fact that many tuners in the uk dont like to rely alot on increasing the fuel pressure... ie when ppl use a full ecu here the minimum pressure used is that of around 4bar.. now this increases the size of the injectors drammatically, so perhaps thats y ur tuners tend to ask u to get 550cc injectors as it makes sense...

My tuner never asked me for 550, Speedvision was out of 460's. How much HP are 460's could for approx.?

that s work out properly though i have done alot of calculations at work and about
360cc should b enough at 80% duty 2 handle 300hp at the flywheel.....and that calculator shows like 560cc injectors.... overkill me thinks

so the 4** should be fine then..hmm. Will talk to my tuner. Dont really want to forking out to setup new injectors again!!

But I will save cash on fuel.

according to my calculations 440cc should be able to run about 285hp at 80% duty cycle

460cc should be able to run about 300bhp around 80% duty cycle

550cc should be able to run about 355bhp around 80% duty cycle
