Speedvision -
I have no problems with you mate, you know I have bought a few bits off you in the past and you happily replaced a faulty set of injectors I had. All I am saying is, NOBODY seems 100% sure if these injectors are totally safe to use. All I am saying is, because of this, it would of been nice to know where the injectors came from, so I could make my own decision.
Hybrid - You don't understand what I meant. Does not matter anyhow. By the way, you say they were designed to 'flood' the rotary engine. How much can this actually be adjusted? Since moving from 330cc to these Maza 550cc I have lost 50+ miles per tank, doing the same amount of driving a week.
well based on the aus, caribbean and uk starlet sites....over the years, it has been said that the mazda injector spray pattern differs from that of the standard starlet/toyota injectors...mazda tends to "flow in a stream with a little mist"...while the toyota tend to "spray like a powerful mist"
also many respected tuners (on these sites) have commented on having issues with rotary 550 injectors---and i mean in relation to several different ecu and piggy back set ups.........so that says something
however, it seems to be predominantly the mazda 55o injectors that give this issue that some have experienced........as most have not had trouble with the mazda 330cc, 380cc or 460cc
and your fuel consumption is normal for 550cc....the issue is thaton idle and cruise, the ecu probably cant control them enough the maintain a lean afr.....so its runing richish on the crusie/idle and drinkiing too much fuel..........while on the top end/high boost it will run ok and burn off the excess fuel
that's why tuners always say to get the smallest injectors that will handle your power......in your case maybe 460cc may be better suited
its very hard for "relatively ok" ecus to control excessively bigger injectors in leanish conditions.....
and sam has stated on the other site that his injecotrs are from mazda....he's always been up front with this ---just for anyone's information
