just stick your fingers down your throat after a good session.... then drink a lot of water. works well..=]

When I used to drink all the time I always had a pint of water in the fridge for when I got in. I admit it was mainly to avoid the hangovers that always hit me hard. Did the trick tho :p

Also in Brighton you can always hit up Buddies or All Night Diner after a night out. They are open from like midnight til 8am or something crazy. You can get a full English/a pizza/burger and chips/steak and chips etc. at 3am after you leave the club. Love Brighton, was such a jokes place.

High horse my arse mate.
It's a public forum and I feel strongly about this topic so it's not just a case of the pc brigade weighing in it's a case of point of view.

totally agree there, i dispise the whole PC bull but this is way beyond that, drink driving is a killer and its a pretty black and white case (unlike speeding)

however the government must help and educate drivers about this as its something that most people do, that doesnt mean handing out bans and fines it means helping and providing us with the means to make an educated informed decision about whether its safe to drive or not, thats why i support the idea of personal breathalisers BUT they should make it illegal to drive any earlier than 12hrs after a drink to prevent the whole "im not at the limit yet il have another" concern :holdit:

Mate! Have you ever done a KF or BK in the MIDDLE of a night out??? When making the move from pub/bar to club, stop at KF for some chickenz or a cheeky cheeseburg from BK!!
LOL a night wouldnt be complete without stopping off for one of the above mid way! It's absoloutly immense :D

Too right a nice cold pint of water works wonders! the rate at which I use to drink I barely use to get to get off the pathment outside the club! lol

Haha yeah! That strip place has so many names. They tried making it look really posh once and it was called something like diamonds gentlemen's club. Last time I checked they turned it into an American diner like Hooters where the girl's would walk around Hooter style uniforms!

Go past that towards the seafront, turn left by Ocean Rooms then right and the diner is just along there. Love that place! I always got the breakfast that came with a cup of tea rofl. Then would throw my black pudding on the floor/at someone. Ahh good times!

This thread is full of pricks defending drink driving. In the uk your arrested for blowing over 35, bit in the police station if you blow under 40 your let off even if it's over the 35 limit.

You got treated like shit for being caught over the limit at that point you were shit.

Agreed.

No sympathy at all.

think we should all get off our high horse here. how many of us drink on a saturday and drive on a sunday afternoon being honest.

the guy assumed he was under the limit. he didnt go to the pub , drink ten pints then drive home. just a little more education is needed about how many hours we need to sober up is needed, not the pc brigade weighing in.

Dont tar us all with the same stick nor put us on the same page as yourself.

I NEVER drive after even having 1 pint, theres a law there for a reason and you wouldnt be complaining if someone you knew was killed by a drink driver!

Unreal the amount of folk on here defending this, i thought most of the folk who are defending this had a brain.

You either DRINK or you DRIVE theres no inbetweener in my eyes.

So if you had 1 pint Saturday with lunch, you wouldn't drive Sunday morning? Rofl. Ted isn't saying he would drink then drive straight away. He's just saying that, like many, he is guilty of going out then driving the next day. Some people disagree with this, but I'm quite happy that if you leave it a fair amount of time, eat, drink plenty of water - its fine. I do it all the time.

Alot of people get caught the next
day even when you got a taxi
home the night before to do the
right thing by not drink driving.
What is the legal limit a pint? Well
thats what it is here it sounds
worse when people say things lke
twice the legal limit when an
actual fact its only two pints. Drunk
driving is a disgrace il agree. I do
have a pint of bulmers in a pub on
a tuesday watching the champions
league which I enjoy when its
over i get in my car and drive
home. Now before I get flamed Im
perfectly entitled to do this Im not
breaking any laws and im not
impared my reactions are still a
hundred times faster than any
pensioner thats on the road.
Maybe this is just an irish attitude
but if the law states at some stage
I cant have any drink at all then I
will abide by it.

"Average" waiting time? Is this for males or females? Does it take into account height/weight, amount of food/water consumed, and a whole bunch of other variables? I think if you did want to know how long it took your body to process alcohol, you should do what ted's suggested.

It is the same for everyone, it doesnt matter whether you are male or female. it doesnt take your height or weight into account etc.. It is your Liver that processes alcohol in your body.

See, I wouldn't have a pint then drive straight away. I just wouldn't but I don't mind that you do as you probably (hopefully) won't be over the limit. I have no beefs with you C-money!

Also, could you imagine if they did ever introduce that law? Where you cannot have even a trace of alcohol in your system?! I think they were contemplating introducing that, but that is faaacking ridiculous. Go out on a massive night on Friday and you could be driving to a mates house Sunday evening and still have traces of alcohol in your system and get done! Cuuurazzzyyyy!

Heres some information:

The risks of drink driving:

At twice the legal limit, drivers are at least 50 times more likely to be involved in a fatal crash.

Drink drive casualties and behaviour in the UK

In the UK, drink-drive casualties (deaths, serious injuries and minor injuries) decreased significantly during the 1980s, but rose by nearly a third between 1993 and 2002 (from 14,980 to 20,140). These statistics include casualties caused by drivers over the drink-drive limit, yet many more drink-drive crashes are caused by drivers who only have small amounts of alcohol in their blood. A further estimated 80 road deaths per year are caused by drivers who are under the drink-drive limit, but who have a significant amount of alcohol in their blood.

According to a survey of 1,000 drivers by Brake, the road safety charity, half of UK drivers admit to drink-driving (after drinking any amount of alcohol at least once in the last twelve months), and one in four admit to driving after drinking an amount of alcohol they know is affecting their driving. More than one in four drivers (28%) also admit driving the morning after having a lot to drink, when they are likely to still be over the limit.

The effects of alcohol

Alcohol is a depressant drug and even small amounts (such as half a pint of lager) affect drivers’ reaction times, judgment and co-ordination. Alcohol also makes it impossible for drivers to assess their own impairment because it creates a false sense of confidence and means drivers are more inclined to take risks and believe they are in control when they are not. For these reasons, the only way for drivers to be safe is to not drink anything at all before driving.

It is also impossible to calculate how much alcohol you have in your blood (even if you know exactly how much you have consumed), or how long it will stay in your system. The speed at which alcohol is absorbed into your system (and how quickly your system gets rid of it) depends on a large number of factors, including your sex, weight, metabolism, health and when you last ate.

There’s no way of knowing exactly how long it takes to sober up completely after drinking, but it’s probably longer than you think. For example, if you finish a 4th pint of normal strength beer at 11pm, you probably won’t be sober until at least 10am the next day but it could take much longer.

Drinking coffee, eating, sleeping and showering don’t make you sober up any faster. It just takes time.

-Never drink any amount of alcohol if you’re driving
-Never drink if you’re driving early the next morning
-Take responsibility for others: never buy a drink for someone who is driving
-Tell your employer immediately (and in confidence) if you catch acolleague drink-driving, for their own safety and the safety of others

Amen.

PS. I take milk thistle daily, I fucking love my liver.

Not everyone drinks. ROFL.
