Have you drove a teg or bread van mate?

I've drove a fair few as part of my job and none of them impressed me as when i was driving a 170bhp starlet.

I was going to last October when insurance was up tbf, got a drive of 1 a couple of months before and wasnt impressed 1 bit, just more responsive in higher gears is all i noticed and the handling was nice. But if your bored of a 200bhp starlet i wouldnt go to a DC2.

Maybe a supercharged bread van.

People say they miss boost and that yeah, but for example, my 350Z would eat the shit out of say a 220BHP starlet(And YES it does very easily) and thats pure N/A with some bolt on mods... Pulls like a bitch with lots of torque and grunt. The boost from a 220BHP(example) starlet 1.3 is pretty poor, not pathetic but does very little for me... Really depends what your referring to..

Boost is good yeah when your thrown back in your seat running dirty power, so unless your running lots of boost/power then the quick N/A cars are easily more fun in my opinion.. Ive got a fair amount of experience in all sorts of set up cars.

Really depends on what boost set up/turbo set up and on what engine.. I personally would not ever own a 1.3 starlet again, it just doesnt cut it, too laggy, not enough engine grunt, its a weird feeling, almost empty.

Hondas feel empty. Great cars no doubt I'd own one no hassle but even the fast ones feel empty and gutless imo.

I went from a near 200bhp starlet to a dc2 and imo the hondas twice the car, you have to floor it to get it moving but when it gets going im sure its alot faster

I agree, i drove a type R recently and a clio 172 and i cant believe just how gutless they felt, even though they were quite quick they just felt half the power of my 350. n/a is always associated with hondas, there are alot more out there but probably cost more..

350 is a car man i would love 1 tbf, i couldnt see myself driving a honda after a starlet as all my mates have them lol most of them are all b18c6 now aswell.

yeah its a good bit of kit, different level of car in evey way. Then again id hope so for the price :(

I will be selling it though very very unfortunately as i need the money recently. One day.. At least i have the starlet to put back on road, the delivery of that is just stupid lol. That does not get boring.

Hondas are sweet, im out that phase now though, and im glad i did it as needed to get it out my system. Try out a few cars mate, if you have a large budget, dam there are plenty of cool cars out there, not just the typical shit every says, evo/ scobby/ 200sx blah blah blah... Its nice to vary to see what you really like and get real experience with the car instead of hear say.

Just my view.

Very true I'd say your 350 would pull it self round towns in 5th gear at 30mph no hassle.

Most definitely, very grunty unlike my old ek... Ek was well quick accelerating but comparing to other engines it is empty, you realize more when you move to a different type of car..

I think the only problem is with N/A that for them to be really powerful they kinda need to have a big ol engine, and that normally means the car is alot of money not only to buy but to maintain so the small engine turbo cars and i mean even up to 2.0liters is pretty small really are popular. The 350 seems like it has a petrol leak at times lol! Too much fuel

I've drove my brothers Honda s2000 and I was not that impressed and it's not that quick, but on the other hand they are sooo tuneable it's unreal, and turbo/supercharger kits are pretty cheap

I've also been in my sisters boyfriends civic type r(bread van ) and was so disappointed, the only car I could compare it to was my mums old mk3 astra sport.I think the problem was that I heard all the hype about v-tec this v-tec that, and was expecting a big kick at 6000rpm+ how wrong was i

I recently moved from a 170ish bhp 1998 glanza to a 2004 integra DC5.

I would say now, that I probably wouldn't ever move back to a starlet full time i'm afraid.
The interior is a whole other world and the whole car just feels a lot nicer- handling is amazing.
Being a 2ltr car it's actually uses less fuel than my glanza:eek:, which was a very welcome surprise.
Still love the starlets and may get one as a second car for weekends at some point though.

One thing I will say is that it doesn't "feel" as fast as a glanza although it definately is faster! Doesn't have much of a throwback but you can see the dial moving up very fast, it's strange:haha:

I can see why people don't like hondas but it's such fun driving them

Yeah, it feels like there is a tiny turbo kicks in at 6K rpm...... poor hondas never leave red zone otherwise no fun driving them! Not a bad car in my opinion, but highly overrated!

Yeah, but how can you compare 1998 model Starlet with 2004 model Honda? I mean during those 7 years the development in the car industry has moved a lot!

I personally would look for an Evo or a Supra, don't know what else to think of at the moment -)

I would miss a boost - if I move to an N/A engine, that's for sure - obviously the massive V8 or V10 might be fast enough, but I doubt I will be able to afford one!

Been in integra type r, a couple o the different shape civic type r, s2000, IMO vtec is well overrated will soon get bored go for something with boost
