Ive still got the main componment piston/rods,head sitting in workshop, neatly stacked. up. lol

just had a looka t someone elses thread and they have broken a gt

started in march and still have shit loads of parts left :(

dont know if that will be a good idea

also had a look on pistonheads, most of the gts on there have been on there for weeks

if your planning on breaking it - bud make a list of all bits you got - inc panels etc, and put prioces up of what you want gauging interest with subjexct to a deposit, once you happy all the bits will sell, you can start to strip them.

personally - whack a new engine in.

i started to take the head off yesterday, just to see what had gone,i may get it off today just to have a look, eaither way i think the whole engine will have to come out

what happened when it stopped? if the piston rings are away then you will feel blow back from the oil cap and this with the cap on will cause excess pressure and resulting in seal after seal blowing. is the coolant boiling up inside the radiator? might be a good idea to send the head for testing and use a straight edge to determine if the block has slightly warped.

Either way mate hope you make the right decision and keep it, its a nice one youve got there

if it is the engine only that is giving you trouble the maximum you can do is replace it. if you do you'll be like having a new car ( if the new engine is in mint condition that is ) and you'll be enjoying the gt once again. that's my 2p mate. hope you'll be doing the right decision finally. good luck.

orite gav, i think you shud break it maybe keep the up-rated parts for youe new GT and then make one fast GT out of the 2, and sell the other bits you dont require off the old GT, im intrested in a few bits and bobs as you know ;)

when it stoped,if you meen when i realised it went i didnt really, the car drives and boosts hard, the only way you can tell somthing is wrong by the smoke out of the breather, alough no oil out of there

gasket is 100 percent fine and also i used a straight edge and i fealer gage to check if the block was warped but it wasnt, all is fine

im hoping its the rings,4 new ones and then ill be away

fingers crossed though :)

turned out to be a cracked piston :) never mind

4 new pistons and four new rings im thinking

agreed

if so looks like she will be staying :)

just found out why it was blowing headgaskets aswell, just looked at the package they came in 4efe

no in that case it wasnt a turbo gasket !!!!!!!!!!

id love to forge it but i dont fancy getting the block out :)
