drink driving endorsments stay on your licence for 11 years you do not have to tell your insurance companys about it 5 years after the date of the original offence because after 5 years the rehabilitation act kicks in, if you get done for it again within those 11 years they can hold that against you in court and will fine you heavily and put you off the road for 3 years, your best bet is to be honest and depending on your breathalyser reading you should just get the statutory 12 month ban.

where the hell do you live... you get a 3 year endorsement on your licence over here.. if you repeat the offence its a 10 year endorsement.. if you dont tell your insurance company bout it and get caught for it youll never insure a car again..if you dont get your licence stamped the endorsement carrys with you till you do stamp it.. if you get a 12 month ban over here you get the full year and if you get 12 months and 1 day you can appeal it in 6 months...

i live in south wales mate that is how it works over here as for having it taken off your licence you can not have it removed before that 11 years is up....you do not have to tell your insurance company after 5 years under the rehabilitation act which was passed in 1978 iirc not to sure if it the same in ireland or not just trying to give the guy some sort of clue in what he needs to be looking into regarding re insuring his car when back on the road.over in ireland do they run a scheme for drink drivers like they do over here, you basically have to go on a course for 4 days and sit a small test at the end and they reduce your ban length by 3 months, ive had to research where i stand with my drink driving conviction as i was a pub manager and it affected my licencing.i now have to re apply for my licence in august when i am a rehabilitated member of society.

who are you to judge someone so critically i bet your an angle with you halo shinning ever so brightly

AngelHalo.gif
its actually angel not angle. never said i was an angel or that i never did anything wrong, but have never gotten behind the wheel of a car after drinking, because its stupid. if him or anyone like him caused the death of someone close to you then i'd like to see what you had to say. argue back all you want about who am i to judge, someone drink drives, then there a fucking idiot simple as! i'd love to see the family of a person that was killed by a drunk driver put in front of some of you lads and see what you'd have to say to them. would you give them the same comment about their halos that you gave me, you would in your hole!

IF is good word, IF your daddy would not gave one to your mama you would not be here (which easily could have happened) :teach:
and thats put nicely

silly arguement! i could get into my car sober and kill someone, i could get in drunk and kill someone, but by driving drunk i've significantly increased the chances, thats the difference.
zero tolerance is the only way imo

This site is usually good when it comes to technical info etc, and there are a decent bunch of guys on here, BUT, there is also a serious amount of twats on here.

For f*ck sake guys, this is a car ENTHUSIASTS forum. I do not know of a single person who is actually a genuine car enthusiast who could think of any possible way of condoning drink driving. WTF is with the comments about halo's? He has been convicted of drink driving. He is a criminal, he should be treated like one.

Some people really, really need to grow up. Either that or head over onto your local "cruise" forums. I am sure you will be made to feel right at home.

This is gone way off topic if ye
want to talk about drink driving by all
means start a topic on it as there
needs to be alot said on it by the
looks of things some strong but very
true views on it..
