change of hands

neilcliop, i think it was very unjust for you to say such/start this thread about Chris@CCM not having verified your facts beforehand. be the bigger man and apologize.. i know i would.

it's like God coming back to blame Moses for the crappy way the world has turned out to be today when it is us who have polluted & messed it up -- having gone through 6 billion+ hands since Moses walked the earth back in the day.. :p

to be fair there are various reasons as to why bearings on engines go,

they can be over revved, or if you do engine breaking, the engine could have worn over abuse and miles, could have been poorly maintained since rebuild, wrong oil could have been used, oil could have got to hot, tune could have been bad and preigniting, there are so many variables as to the bearing spinning its hard to point the finger.

and to add if an engine was poorly built it wouldnt do more than the run in mileage before showing up some form of problem.

when i had a bad engine build years ago, i was complaining from day 1 about the noise of the engine and the poor oil pressure, it then lasted 350 miles before spinning a bearing, with me driving it carefully.

i would put this down to just being "one of them things"

This exactly, the pic clearly looks like the bearings spun, either due to low oil pressure or blocked oil way. If the engine had just been built this would have been noticed straight away, not months/years down the line.

friend got the work done with chris ,he fixed that fueling problem the next day just the hoses wrong way round. .he swapped the car for a type r very shortly after this,
think that owner might have thaught he was still in the type r .abuse at some stage along the lines would be my guess. would have
packed in very soon when friend had it if was built bad in my eyes.

At the end of the day, he bought it, if it was held together with cable ties and wood screws why buy it!

This why naming and shaming is usually one of the last cards in your deck.
