We did look out of our depths, but the Italians tactics didnt help us 1 bit. Iam a Man United fan, but Rooney had a shocker the whole of the cup. So why didnt Cappelo drop him, and only naming your squad 2 hours before a game, i dont understand. Then playing probably 1 of our best players on the left of midfield is ?????

ozil ran the show today but england were terrible altogether and what the hell was capello thinkin bringin on heskey when thay needed goals??

i thought it was englands year??

Doubt it sweinsteiger (sp) run the show he was amazing for germany. Shame england haven't played this world the useless overpaid twats. For their performances the players should refund all the fans for how much they paid to get to south africa to watch such shit performances.

I fancy going to see the euro 2012 but if they play like that i wont be happy 1 bit.

They didn't look or act like a team and Rooney never really looked hungry for the ball.

I sort of wanted england to win the world cup so I could eventually stop hearing about 1966 lol.

Come on norn iron:p:haha:

well i was still cheering them on today in the pub, everyone would do well to remember that this has been one of the most open world cups ever, i.e france and italy goin out in the group stages.
also as for saying they got well beaten, if you look at the third and fourth goals germany scored, it was because england were pushing hard for an equaliser and got caught on the break.
if that joke of a decision had been got right in the first half then Fabio would have sent the team out in the second half with a completely different setup, and the result would have been very different.
but i believe rooney is almost entirely to blame for there exit as i have never seen such a moody lackluster showing in a world cup from a player.
i would have had him on the bench after there second game, and had wright philips down the wing crossing into crouch.
oh and why heskey was on the plane instead of bent defies belief.

think we should sue nike, for sending a cardboard cutout of rooney to the world cup and capello for not noticing.

England have gr8 players but thats all (players) they dnt even play as a team.

You say " Rooney is almost entirely to blame for there exit " which i find to be an over reaction. The whole team was shit, but does it not show how much faith Fabio had in is other forwards. He would sooner play a dissapointing Rooney, before Crouch or Defoe. I think Fabio just got it round his bollocks. Hes not entirely to blame, as our whole team was shite

On a side note at least the expectations of England will die for the future competitions. As what talent do we have coming through now. We can be like the Scotts and Irish an International joke

Its not just too preasure on Rooney, its too much preasure on the England team every world cup, yet they wonder why they get knocked out and struggle to score goals? That was the best and worst performance on them in that Tournament.

But i mean come on ... scoring from a goal kick? Thats the oldest trick of the book is a ball straight down the centre. David James was the best player by far, no doubts about his goal keeping talents thats for sure.
