Was on to quaffe earlier in the year, just as an option. asked for a 6 sequential box for ours car, any they said the universal box they have can be made to bolt up to our engines at an £8362 cost.

Straigh cut box means the gears are straight cut, unlike the conventional helical gear.

As for a dog box, it refers to the syncro as such.
Instead of having a syncro ring, there are dogs (not the woof woof type) on the side of the gears.
Also means you dont have to clutch on the up shifts, or the down shifts, IF your good at matching the revs.
Most clutch on the down shift, incase of locking up the wheels.

its just straight cut but bazza was refering to me as i put it up for sale a while back

I can even help answer that....

This was when i was interested in buying one for myself they wanted £2400 for the entire set of gears etc.

I believe Keith at Zisco can ge hold of kits that are alot cheaper than this though ?

there's a lad who imports then from SQS, they're 5700GBP, all dog gears, pinions etc and sequential shifter with it too combined. Fits in stock bell housing and gearbox case with your LSD

dont think ill bother i would never pay that for a gearbox! :eek:

just wait for mcloed straight cut sounds fun and i love the noise it makes! :rockon:

for starlet high powered reliabilty, Dogbox is the only way forward. it shares the same reason why you upgrade your internals to forged, i intend to go dogbox next year on the list.

the prices vary quite abit to be honest, some will make the gears but not shafts. others want a groupbuy and are unwilling to do a single set. the story goes on, and i very much doubt we would have enough willing members to commit to a groupbuy:

but then you have euro companys that vary from £2500-4000 for complete everything.

Done abit of phoning around as usual using Skype as it bare cheap for europe calls etc.
