The Bailey's sound OK mate. Hit up YouTube and find a vid, just your generic "woosh" sound tbh. They do tend to stick open and leak because they have weak springs but you can buy the twin piston version which won't leak. (The DV26 its called).

My first gt has a baileys, if your after a good sounding whoosh then their fine buddy:).

Only fine i would say is they can make your engine bay a bit messy as montanair said as they can leak oil sometimes. So have a towel or cloth at hand and check every few days.
Asides that I would say its a great "first" dumpvalve

i went to derv doctors on a budget and 130 got me a twin piston dumpvalve and they also put a 90 degree pipe on my intercooler pip so i could mount it properly instead of above the power steering pump its sounds mint as well very unique

i used to have a baileys sounded nice but like everyone is sayin used to leak boost on motorways tryin to keep a steady speed used to annoy me, one of my mates said my car used to sound like a kettle boiling goin down the motorway ha, got a greddy type rs now love it got the spring set hard so i get a bit of chatter and get the dump under hard driving.

Guys, thaught id post in the right section/big topic.. does anyone know size of the outlet from the standard IC to the DV? .. I think i may need some kind of reducer as the DV ive got dosent fit the standard hosing :(

im currently running a Greddy Type S BOV... and it sounds great... the best part about it is you can adjust the sound and the loudness... im not allowed to adjust it on mine cos its me friends and im not allowed to :(

but honestly speaking does a BOV really increase your cars performance on a std level???

how to adjust the loudness and sound? coz im using 1 too:rockon:

Bailey are cheap and cheerful aswell as being pretty loud :).

They leak under part throttle on the motorway but it isnt really an issue.

I personally love the sound of the turbo chatter and the standard wastegate.alot fof the starlets i have heard with BOV seem to sound a bit tacky i dont know why but the standard noise to be sounds so much nicer.loads of people ask me what BOV i have got and wont accept that i dont have one.but yeh for me no BOV but thats my opinion:)

Ive been searching the forum for topics concerning running with out a Bov ,
and have found that many members have been running their cars no probs with out using one , however on searching the net , ive found articles discussing the adverse effects on Ball bearing turbos in particular , stating theyre likely to be damaged , how true is that ?
