Engine noise. help ahhh

it could be, but sounds more like something cam related. its the highest point for the oil to travel so if the pump isnt getting up to pressure and pumping correctly then the top end can be starved of oil and will wear very quickly. the oil pump itself wont be making that noise.

just check one thing at a time mate. or take it to a garage or a mate who knows what they are doing as im sure they should be able to diagnose this problem better than anyone on this site using sound clips.

Good point, would the fact its idling at 1.5k - 2k constantly be likely to help it wear? I guess i'll see someone that knows :(

wont really matter mate. that is another problem that needs looking at, but if your oil pump is going then that is alot more important. sort the idle after this is sorted

Hmmm...you've not put a rattle snake under the rocker cover have you ???

Teehee! :p

I hope whatever it is, gets fixed or isn't a problem.

Love.

I see so under the bonnet next to the clutch master cylinder is a sensor with a with a connect that will slide off, connect that to somehwere on the engine? i take it ignition needs to be on aswell? and that should light the oil light, if it doesnt llight then the bulb may be blown/missing or the switch could be broken? how does this all tie in to the noise? I'm tired and confusing my self.

here is a pic of oil switch to help:)

Okay so i got the rocker cover off took a few vids as its easier to view than pics.

Turns out the rocker cover was leaking oil as the gasket fell apart could this be the cause of the 'noise' im getting as the oil pressure in theory would be lower if theres a leak right?

Its the two on the left, any reason why water would be there?

*could an oil leak in the top left corner of engine behind the oil filler cap allow water/moisture in?*
