as people have said a million times, the rear brakes do very little. drums are more than ample for the job.

i have a pretty well sorted ep82 and compared to my stock ep85 that just runs meister r's and i reckon the ep85 will outdo my ep82 once iver replaced the worn out bushes on it.

the weight is alot more neutral and when you put your foot down it goes round the corner (with a touch of oversteer) due to the rear wheels being driven too

Rear Drum is ample unless we are seriously tracking it... and even if you do the effect are still minimal.
We use to run a CRX in "Ten Of The Best" quite a while ago and used the rear drum because it was lighter and work just as well.

If you have enough power, I say 4WD > FWD always.
It will put the power to the ground better, and it will "find" the line into corners easier because the rear will help push the car into the apex so to say.

iv been in the same boat for a bit but other than the wet weather issue im not convinced that an ep*5 starlet will out handle a well setup ep82/91 due to the lack of well sorted lsd's and arb's etc. would be good to take one of each running simlar poer on a track and see who posts the better time?? you cant setup rear discs on the ep*5's either so surley the stopping power isnt as good wich is a factor in cornering etc

You are a long way wrong in your thinking mate, the *5s are much better even with small suspension mods, no diffs and drum brakes on the rear lol.

I am not just bigging up the *5s, my last *91s suspension was good and drove a few well set up 82s round the same track as well.

Can verify that. I was the first to drive Trev's first turbo EP85 and the difference is quite evident. I've since driven more powerful examples and can vouch for the confident and positive feel the chassis offers. It's all good.

No tutorials sorry, I just splice all the necessary engine controls for a GT engine onto the 4WD loom.

It can be done by fitting all GT looms into the 4WD but you have interiors to swap over then.
