They might have removed the boost restriction mate, even if not we're taking fractions of seconds here between the two. An improved chassis will more than make up for that

the ep91s chassis is identical to the ep82, only the bodywork covering it is different, toyota didnt make a whole new car, just updated the looks.

how a standard glanza could get close to a standard gt on a track could only be witchcraft!

The boost restriction wouldn't slow you down at all, and when would you be in 1st than hardly ever in second. Infact the boost restriction makes the glanza 1% quicker off the line than any gt.

there is subtle differences. front antiroll bar is one i know of. maybe some other small tweaks to the angles of the suspension maybe?

its a fact the glanza is heavier, maybe the weight distribution in standard form suited the track better?

one final point. the GT is the 'old' model in this test. even if the GT being used was low mileage and well looked after the chassis isnt going to be quite as tight as a brand spanking new car.

there are so many variables, how much did the GT loose by?

If the GT is best, how come it finishes behind a Glanza.
Also the Glanza would have been brand spanking new whilst the Gt would have been nicely run in so that would give the GT an advantage but it still lost! Gts are sooooo slow. Even tdo4ed GTs get beaten by standard auto Glanza's. FACT. Deano says so!

Seriously though, these threads should be binned as its how clubs split up and fragment. We dont want a GT club AND a Glanza Club. We want a GT and Glanza club. With the odd paseo, sera any other starlet based or 4e/5e powered car

I've seen the race and its a TD05 5E-FTE race prepped Glanza vs. a bone stock GT; and the Glanza only just wins. Thats how hardcore the GTs are....

the only difference im aware of that they made on the ep91 is..

shorter ratio 3rd and 4th gear
restricted boost in 1st and second gear
extra turbine blade in turbo
thinner con rods on ep91?

im guessing the above changes were mainly to compensate for the extra weight the ep91 has over the ep82..

i had a play with my misses when my ep91 was stock vs her stock ep82 mk1. straight line race there was no difference.. after having a few ep82s and an ep91 i can say they both handle as shit as eachother on the standard suspension setup :haha: and having had them both on d2 coilovers i found the 82 to handle better.

does anyone have the dimensions of each car, and the distance between the wheels etc?
