Isnt that below minimum wage.
Say petrol £40 a week-not buying yet as im 16
Insurance £30 a week-not doing this as paying in bulk £1300
Consumables (tyres, filters, oil, plugs, pads etc over a year) £10 a week-??
Weekend playing money £40 a week (as your 16 and cant drink much.
Clothes £10 a week--why???lol
Unforseen extras (Maccy D's takeaways, everything else) £20 a week

All adds up to £150 so basically you will never be able to buy anything for your car and you are skint all the time. :(
Unfortunatley this is what you will find happens.
But Congrats on the job!
i wont be buying clothes etc and im not paying for insurance and tax.....my family are...ive edited above anyway:)its just a little garage near me(say 30-45 mins away)

i hope it turns you CaL, i havent been here long but to be honest you do come up with some crap sometimes, it makes me wonder if you do it for attention.

just get your work head on and hopefully it will be a lesson in life for you, to be honest a lot of people change after they just get out of school and into the real world where things are more serious. i cant see mechanics being worried about saying what they truly mean so if your personality in life is the same as on the inet then you should be prepared for some mickey taking!

but good luck for it keep your head down and hopefully you'l learn a lot, both mechanically and attitude wise.

well done on getting a job at 16 but i would recomend staying in school so when you finish(and maybe college) you can demand more money

You have all your life in front of you, no need to rush into things!

I have to disagree with that, i left school when i was 16 and went straight into an apprentiship, now 19 im hopefully gona be finishing my apprentiship 9 months earlier and as a fully qualified maintenancee engineer, apprentiships are definatly the way to go to learn a decent trade and earn some money!!!
