Forged Piston to use with Godzilla!

For the piston yes, for the rods no. You must also remember that that is also for the speeds and not the subsequent forces that will be put on the parts as I imagine they will increase logorithmically rather than arithmetically.

Totally right, the forces on the pistons increse dramatically for only a small increase in speed

well done to dahna for that time but to say a standard engine without opening it is a guess as for doing it with under 20psi of boost is the biggest bullshit i have ever heard everybody knows it wouldnt be able to produce all that power with under 20psi ! arent other starlets with modded heads running over 30psi to run in the 11's? you should know better than that Kon . I have to yet see to believe! On the other hand i tought mine was modded because of its performance and only confirmed its not when i had to open the engin so unless you open it and confirm its standard you cant just guess it is. We all know in Malta they run a near full race engine but when you ask what yuv got they all say air filter and silencer so sorry i find it hard to believe the numbers there! Im not saying he didnt do that time which is a very good time im just saying its not done with stage 1 mods as is trying to be said.

Mate, read my previous post with the video of a 5e powered GT running an 11.75 running nothing but toyota OEM engine parts on 20ish PSI of boost, of course it's possible. Congrats to the malta guys for actually putting down some decent times, sure puts the english to shame ;)

the problem is with us english is that everything costs us so dam much, that we are always on the side of caution.

where as the maltese boys and aus boys, things seem to be a lot cheaper from what i've seen, so maybe they can afford to throw caution to one side for a bit ;)

lol, a stock engine costs a lot? You guys constantly spring for forged internals, something that's rarely done anywhere else due to expense. Results speak imho, if the maltese guys can lay down 11's on stock internals there is no reason why you guys couldn't too.

at the moment our local scrap yard (NI) wants 700ish gbp for a stock 4efte.

just for some perspective.

Fairly pricey to be sure, I was more referring to the fact that most of you already have a stock motor in your cars.

Here a 4e-fte with 40-60k miles on it would be 250-300 gbp from a wreckers, I've bought running motors for ~100 gpb, td04l's for ~30

Back on topic!

but thats a 5E high comp engine and bigger cc ! not a 1.3 with 18psi ! you have to drop yours down to 10psi to be in the region af the low compression 1.3 running 18psi and with that you wouldnt run any 11 secs!

Its cheaper to build your own (replace pistons, rods etc) with stuff ordered directly from Toyota, nevermind traders....
I paid 600 for another 4e just over 2 years ago though :( with no annicilaries

lol... a stock engine over here wont be more than 400euros lol.. but we rarely buy any unless something happens to the block.. its mor worth buying replacement parts & changing them urself :)

@ Ivan... i know for a fact the engine has NEVER been opened locally as i know all its ownership history from the day it came from japan, & yes it is a stock gt engine ;) just good tuning..

we ourselves are finding it hard to believe but trust me it is a stock engine ;)

lol... u cant compare that.. think about the efficiency of the turbo ;)

i know what you mean but at the same time the point is alot of us can only afford the one thats in our motor! blowing it up just to say we hit a qtr mile time is something only a few of us can afford.

then you have the aftermath of blowing it up, the bottom end could be mangled, then a forged or stock rebuild isnt straight forward, have to start looking for a crank block etc, all hassle.

sorry to go off topic, just a wee insight in to "playing it safe" :)

Kon as you are saying yourself you only know the histry since the car came to Malta but dont know anything that could have been done in Japland. It could be as you say but i find it hard to believe that stock internals (with the weak ringlands the standard pistons have) would last if producing that power (and im sceptic about the how much boost it is given as 20psi is too little to make that time! didnt your friend use to give it over 30 psi to run in the 11's with thesame turbo? here we are talking 10 or more less psi of boost !
