Front mount intercooler installation

Hi I'm gettin a front mount cooler for my glanza ep91 soon and just wondering how hard these to actually fit as I mostly pay for someone to do the work in my car but I could do with saving some money and doing a few things myself. Are they fairly straight forward to fit? does the bumper come of easy and how does the cooler itself mount to the car do u just drill holes and mount it? These sort of things I'm just interested to know from ppl Who hav done it themselves

dno does the air con need to be removed but have never seen a fmic with air con so dno.. jackin a car can help greatly no matter what you are doing imo. the fmic is easy enough to install just go at it and its really easy to work out what you have to do.. basicly remove frnt bumper, drain rad take out rad should be held on with brackets two bolts on top disconnect two hoses top and bottom of the rad and disconnect the wire for fan can be a little akward to get out kept catchin in my bay, take tmic off and all pipes brackets clips etc, then ( i was lookin for a thread but couldnt find any with pictures so got this little bit of a different thread) got from a post by corofin12345
its fairly easy mate.. first line out the cooler and piping on the ground 2 get your bearings.. in otherwards, pipe lay out as it would be fitted 2 the car, which hoses and clips go where on the piping.. then i suggest you mount the cooler first.. theres bolt holes undereneath the cross member.. use which ever for the support brackets for the cooler.. bend brackets and drill new holes if needs be..secure also 2 the bonnet latch support from top of cooler.. when the cooler is fitted run the pipe work/hoses/clips 2 where it suuposed 2 go and fiddle about with it all untill its in a good position and tighten up.. some cutting 2 the bumper and plastic gards may be needed depending on what fmic you got.. make sure you tighten up all fittings cause there is loads and can be overlooked.. trust me ive seen it happen loads of times before..
think that should cover it for ya. the put back on rad and reconnect fan brackets and put coolent back in i forgot in a corsa before puzzled how i forgot, make sure the air bubbles all come up when engine running warm.
as for a/c removal heres a link http://www.toyotagtturbo.com/forums/showthread.php?27259-Aircon-Removal-guide and incase you dont know bout belt side of things http://www.toyotagtturbo.com/forums/showthread.php?51261-How-To-Adjusting-the-alternator-amp-powersteering-belts-* think thats all there is. enjoy.

Does the rad have to come out then or not? Doesn't the rad need bleeding at all when re fitting? I thought it only has to cum out for the a/c removal not fmic fitting

rad doesnt come out, leave it in and kit should go round it anyway.
what kit have you got as that way will tell if it is a/c friendly or not.

Dont mount the cooler until you have the pipes in, its easier to move it slightly than it is to modify the pipes. Put it all together without any clips on the joiners to make sure its going to fit, then try the bumper back on as it has to clear that as well. Once you are sure its in the right place, start drilling holes.

I duno what kit it is I haven't got it yet just trying to find all that out of the kid selling it. think its best to let the pros do it lol as I wan the air con out swell and I only have a basic idea of how to do it

I would think a garage would get the arm in for that job, best to let someone who has done it before do it, or give you a hand. Its not a hard job but its not the run of the mill job that most garages would do, so they will get into you I think. Apart from the shorter belt you dont need to do anything but remove stuff and keep the pressure sensor in so the rad fan wont run all the time, but most garages wont know that.

Time to look for an EP buddy not to far away from you!

There is a thread in the useful thread section, trust me I'm useless but me and a mate worked it all out out ourseselves. If you get pics of the kit up we can tell you if you need to remove the ac. And as said above if you do need to remove it then you will need the shorter ac belt :)

Ye I'm stil having it removed even if fmic fits with it in just for space and it isntt needed. Ye I've seen the threads I pretty much no how to do it now they've helped me a ton, the thread doesn't point out the valve to release the gas and I'm still unsure about this pressure switch. I no I need a non a/c power steering belt cuz it's shorta to fit when the pumps out

I've had a look at it all now and I think the gas has already been drains out there's the valve on the front on that canister thing infront if the aircon rad its got a H maker on the cap and I've press that and nothing comes out and found another one behind headlight infront the expansion bottle with L marked in it and nothing comes out tha either when I press it. Should it burst out and sound like air out tyres? Also I've notice a lom of wires coming from behind nearside drivers headlight that runs across the top f the water rad and has switches for all the dans coming of it etc and not sure what happen to all that after it's moved. Plus therers another switch coming of this loom to that canister which mounts infront of the rad where do they all plug in after what r u Ment to do with all these switches lol
