fueling on hybrid ct9

i realy do disagree. especialy with a ct9 hybrid running under fuel cut. imo it probbaly will fuel fine.

i ran with a t3 for a long time without an fpr just under fuel cut. engine still running great ! :)
the guy wants to max out the ct9 not stay under fuel cut

Think of it this way, a ct9 at bar and a td04 at 1 bar all the rest exactly the same yet the td04 will obviously make more power, why, because its physically a larger turbo with a larger flow rate of air, more air equals more fuel needed which equals more power.;)

Thats because at a bar it would be mapped to compensate for the added velocity the tdo4 produces being a bigger turbo. i see what your saying but the ecu would be able to cope with the boost on his hybrid as it is working its limit, it possibly would have problems coping with the added movement or air flow the hybrid will produce ie: ignition timing being retarded and not having enough fuel pressure, its my understanding of how map sensors work and how ecu's are mapped, but im still learning so all comments are welcome :)

All the map sensor does is give the ecu the boost pressure and changes the fueling and ignition to match it also takes knock reading and tps reading decide what to do. The map sensor cannot tell tho if it has increased mass so it will only allow for the preset map for ct9 if it had a maf sensor it probably could tell to a degree but maf's normaly reduce performance and are only normaly to get better emissions.

Regardless of what anyone has said... It will probably be ok below fuel cut, but for the sake of a new engine/rebuild (both ~£1000) I'd take it to a Rolling Road and pay the £30-£50 for a fuelling check.

If it is a Hybrid, even at the same boost, more air will reach the engine, which requires more fuel. The only question is whether or not the car was running rich enough to start with.

Every car, turbo and environment can react differently.

Get it checked before you go boosting anywhere Kieran.

i didnt say dont get it checked... i said its safe to get it checked. but it would probably be fueling fine. as jay said not all engines are the same.... but think you would be safe under fuelcut just my opinion. guess we have to wait till you get it on an rr and see how it goes:p

I wasn't aiming that at you at all mate :)

I saw a few conflicting opinions and couldn't be bothered reading the rest lol :D

It'll be safe to take to a Rolling Road, but I wouldn't be comfortable or happy with running it more than absolutely necessary if it was mine.

It is worth considering that when mixing finely measured amounts of air and fuel and igniting them at the right time to produce explosions you should really be seeking professional back up.

Especially given the risks involved to your wallet, motability and dignity.

In discussions like this I have a mental image of a beginner tuning a guitar for the first time. Without the aid of a wideband you will basically be tuning by ear and that can lead to many broken strings before a good song is ever played... ;)

well iv been running a hybrid close to a year now and my friend has been running a hybrid for about 3 years with no supporting fueling mods...

Some get lucky.

As already stated every car reacts differently, even identical factory specs.
