Getting The Caldina Dynoed On Wednesday

I just got back from the dyno I am making 160 kw on all 4 wheels and 300 nm torque not bad for a stock car i'm bloody impressed it's not too far off from standard figures it has a 10% drive train loss the guy was telling me the first run I made 158 kw and the 2nd and 3rd run I made 160 kw the guy accidently deleted the data so I got a printout of the 158 kw run but it's ok i'm really happy with the result he told me stock 2007 wrx sti's are making about 160 kw atw as well

So that was 160KW at the wheels? or after you add in that 'estimate' flywheel crap?

Thats at the wheels I got no flywheel I have a tiptronic lol I went to gary capper motorsport in pukekohe for the dyno test good bunch of guys there they really know what they are talking about

For all these experts that are commenting on the Caldina, have you ever been in one (or even seen one)? Just because Deano's commented in the past that his Glanza achieves mega speeds, doesn't mean the the Caldina's shite. If any of you want to test me in mine, make the journey and play the game...

Good luck on the dyno chap, be interesting to see what yours makes so that I can compare mine.

A VR4 has 60BHP more power and 50ftlbs more in torque as standard. What make you think the Caldina has more power and torque?

10% transmission loss is a joke too.

i think your getting confused there deano, i believe caldinas in NZ have just 1% transmission loss

The B4 legacy's he chews up are 280bhp stock and have a 5.4sec 0-60 as far as I recall... but I guess he was slaying them in his stock auto glanza so why would the caldina be any different.

For wheel figures they seem pretty decent :)
around 214bhp / 221lb.ft @ the wheels with 4wd isn't too shabby, nice one :)

take it that was at stock boost? 1.1bar will make a nice difference if so ;)

Stock standard legacy b4's are barely making 130 kw atw the dyno guy showed me their results caldinas have 260 at the engine usually 4wd cars have a 10-20% transmission loss so that result is pretty bloody good a manual legacy b4 got tested in nz by autocar in 2001 doing 6.8 secs to 100 km/h same as the japanese spec and that one was launched from 4000 rpm I know of a standard altezza that beat one of them a few weeks back :haha:

I'm planning on getting my exhaust done 2.5 inch with downpipe get a hdi electronic boost controller, and a greddy emanage ultimate and get it tuned for 16-17 psi I will change the turbo eventually and get a front mount going to go t3/t4 one day ;) my boost is at 12 psi atm

Nice result Deano. :) Be interesting to see what difference an HDI boost controller makes, as that's what I have to go on mine (coupled to an Apexi induction and a full Ganador exhaust system).

stock legacy B4's making 130kw??? thats less than 200bhp sorry mate you are talking total crap. Stock they are 275-280 bhp ... a four wheel drive 2 ltr twin turbo being beaten by a stock altezza... Deano would you ever grow up and stop talking bollox.

If you talked anything close to the truth people might believe you but it appears the truth and you never seem to cross paths.

I have actually driven one before and it was crap the lag between the twin turbo changeover was awful they aren't that fast and they get beaten by alot of cars with way less horsepower there are alot of these cars over here in nz and I have seen the dyno results and they are all 130 kw or below quite possibly one of the worst cars I have ever driven
