HDi Boost Controller gone wrong :S

i've had the hdi for 3 years now and had no problems with it, and works really well, the various rolling roads i have been to over the years have been impressed with it, my mate has a turbo mini and thats the same had his hdi controller for 3 years and had no problems with it,

the hdi boost controller with just the single knob was shit though by all accounts and never really worked.

it does sound like your boost controller is up the spout, it seems as if now hi boost i low and low boost is high, it's quite possible its an internal software error or something,

might be worth giving hdi an email or call and see what they say,

hdi seem to have really good rep in aus

if you do need to change boost controller the latest gizmo is really good and is tried and tested to be good for power over 1000bhp as abbey motorsport run them (the hdi uses the same solenoid not sure about the latest gen of gizmo though)

or the AEM true boost controller is also really good, again has the same solenoid as the hdi and gizzmo and has the added bonus of having a nice boost gauge.

imo the likes of hks and blitz are just unnesecarily complicated, which is a shame as when u eventually get them setup they are good.

Hmm i got the multifunctional one looks like this :

Its now reset its self and hi and low are same i think but however sometimes i can put foot down and will boost very high and then go round a conrer and boost is low again

Gizzmo i think i am gunna get but the ibc one rather than ms-ibc. I feel for what i need it will be good

gizzmo are really good mate, im running one at the moment and holds boost perfect everytime! extremely easy to wire/setup compared to others and does the job! looks cool aswell with the bright blue large readout

What one u got mate ? IBC or the MS-IBC ?

Just having a read of this and am glad I have but half wish I hadn't,

I was going to get the stated HDi kit on ebay because I'm just sick of paying through the nose for stuff that never gets noticed lol!

Anyone with one had any problems just setting and leavng? I want it to give me 1 bar of boost and that's it!?

i have had blitz, aem, hks, hdi and gizmo and the hdi's definately are pants. although i managed to get it working in the end and to be fair it did its job.
HKS EVC 6 was the best though

the boost gauge u get with the hdi is awfaul to be polite, but the unit itsel;f works fine and normally very well.

if i were to do it again though i would defo go for the gizmo next.

Well i just bought the Gizzmo IBC Limited Edition one , Quick question guys shall i just use the vaccum hoses that are already set up in bay/inside car for the new boost controller ? Cheers Mike

yeah double check the instructions, but i pretty certain the solenoids setup the same

Gizzmo is fitted guys and my GOD!! Been tuning the gain and duty cycle and my god pulls like hell Should be running around 230 bhp now what it was running before i fiddle with it first time Cheers guys for all the help Mike
