Help..?

its very rare you hear of police checking cars for insurance and going into the model etc, they would just check the cars insured, as long as its not insured as something crazy! normally most glanzas are registered as 1.3 starlets when imported or gl's. you could insure it as a starlet as its stated in your log book, however the insurance wouldnt see it that way. its a different issue if you wish to claim for your car, in which case the insurance would inspect the car, and believe me they can tell if its a turbo! (i work for insurance) its just a risk you take, but you have to ask if its worth it!

ahh thats good news!! i couldnt give a FUCK wether i have to pay if i crash or something... i dont care.. aslong as im insured to drive on the roads, thats all that matters... and if i do crash into someone, i would pay for their car to get fixed and pay for mine to cuz the insurance wouldnt cover me if they discover its a turbo.. soo, for example, i type in the registration online and it comes up Starlet GL 2007 model ... but its really a 1997 or 1998 glanza V... if i'm driving around and the police pull me over and check the engine, what u think they would do? =/

yes i realised theres no such thing as a glanza gl, its either v or s. all im saying is when these cars are imported most of them state they are starlet 1.3s, or in my case the registration plate brings up a gl for some reason which is definately not what my car is, in which case i informed my insurance exactly what model it is etc.

you would have insurance, but im not saying its legal! techniqually your insurance would be void as your not insuring your vehicle what it is, then if the police wanted they could crush your car, thats why i said its a risk. plus if you hit someone else say a brand new bmw which cost £30,000 and wrote their car off, your insurance wouldnt pay out on your behalf, which means they would take you to court and make you pay. yes thats just the problem with comparison websites as these are imports and their database doesnt often recognise the car model. glanzas arnt even on all databases!

to be honest it depends on lots of factors, you may get a policeman who has a glanza theirself so they would know! if it was me mate i would wait until you can afford to insure it as it is otherwise its too much of a risk to you and also someone else on the road. i would be pretty annoyed if you crashed into my glanza and your insurance didnt wana pay me! lol

look, if they pulled me right.. and start going on about insurance.. all i have to say is "i typed the correct registration into confused.com and it came up with Toyota Starlet GL, so i thought that was correct and therefore proceeded to purchase the insurance thinking there was nothing wrong with what i was doing" ... would'nt that be ok :S

no i was talking to the other guy, he said he couldn't get in sured on a glanza v so what about a glanza gl, he also said should about whether to get a starlet gt or a gt turbo- they're the same and you won't get it coming up as a starlet 2007 model they ended well before then!

I'm sure the other guys are going to rip you on this thread and what you're talking about :S

if u have nothing good to say or to help me then why are u posting on here? i dont understand? and btw on websites before it was saying "toyota starlet GT, and also toyota starlet gt turbo... and these were like 1994 models. U think i care who is going to rip me? :S LMFAO honestly, your stupid.

they wouldnt take that for an excuse mate, they would say its your responsibility to check exactly what model the car is before you insure it, especially if your a young driver and bring up your record, chances are they will be c***s about it. definately dont insure it as a gl mate, if you ask most people on here they will also tell you to just save up and insure it as a glanza v what it is. if its gona cost you like £5k i wouldnt bother, unless your desperate enough for one but thats just crazy imo!

Fuck it then. no point even getting a car for another 3 years then i dont have to declare it on insurance policys. this is shit. no car for another 3 years. i will not drive a 1.0 corsa or anything shit like that so might aswell wait.

look right all im gona say is, that if you were to play dumb about it, then its your own risk, then if they pull you over realise your driving a car which isnt insured correctly, they will crush your car, then youve lost your car and the insurance premium youve paid, so its not really worth it. i dont wana go to extremes but say for example you hit a car and seriously injured or killed someone then you really would be screwed (ino thats an extreme but could happen)!

im not being funny but youve asked people on here for advice by posting a thread and it seems youve already made up your mind that your gona get a glanza and drive it around anyway, it seems from what youve said that you will not get insured on a standard glanza let alone a forged one, thats modified so making it even more illegal.

bollocks you're the thick fucker for getting done with all these offences and then going on the route to do it all over again! this is a public forum, THE REASON I HAVE NOTHING GOOD TO SAY IS BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING GOOD ON ANY LEVEL ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE DOING!

You don't enough know enough about the car's to own one. In your other post yes you will have purchased some form of insurance, but it won't cover your car therefore YOU WOULD HAVE NO INSURANCE!

You shouldn't be allowed on this site, saying you couldn't give a fuck if you crash with no insurance covering your car and without the knowledge about what even the cars are called is shite.

no need to be like that

no need to be like that

every need! go ahead and do what you want, if you insure it wrong and an accident happens then you'll deal with the consequences, its that simple! playing dumb isn't an excuse with insurance companies. if the car isn't insured exactly as what it is you are fecked!

no one on here can tell you what to do, your gonna make your own decision at the end of the day!

end of the day its your choice but i really wouldnt recommend mis-insuring it just incase ive been pulled for a spot check before & they called it in as a starlet glanza so some police do know what they are!!. i waited 2 years to get insured on a glanza v as ive always really really wanted one since i passed my test n i finally got the cash to buy one after finding a nice one then not being able to get insured was a real downer & ended up with a 1.2 corsa but i waited and my time came it was worth waiting for not stopped smiling since so there deffo worth the wait even though the waiting part is crap.
