How to mount an intercooler - My new one :)

Ill let the pictures speak for them selves really.

all i used was a drill and a long threaded rod the correct size for my intercooler mount points then dilled into the bumper support bar.

a Golden specialty :p you have no idea how long i spent cutting up intercooler shaped cardboard to find the perfect size lol

Ahh, so you cut out an ideal size before you ordered the correct dimensions?

kinda, i took rough mesurments then checked for what was available.
then cutout carboard, to the sizes of cooler that was available to see how they would fit in the bumper, my method seemed to work and im very happy with my purchase :)

Yea got loads left, they were 99p each from BnQ had them lying around and they happend to fit:)

Still need to make some radiator brakets up though...

oh I see B&Q, i got those flat stripes of metal plate, about to use them for the brakets. But yours a very good idea.

i was going to do it that way but didnt need to in the end, might be doing somthinkg similar with the new radiator im going to order

My only thing with it though is, the airflow to the rad may be reduced heavily, and therefor not do much cooling. Just a heads up really.
Just make sure the rad is rubber mounted, so it doesnt crack.

I did think that mate. altho from what ive read, if you have them close together the flow through them should remain good. ill keep an eye on the temps though as ive just got a new guage ;)

ill do a similar thing and put the pics up when i get the new radiator.

Kon, what do you think about the Radiator being blocked by the cooler?
