Im not trying to be a prick or anything mate. I was in your exact position when I was 17. I had to wait till I was 21 to be able to insure one and thats with full clean license and no claims. Its a long, tough wait I know but just look at your other possible options for now. Best of luck whatever you decide to do.

Started off in a micra. Lets leave it at that Ah no it was a great learner car and dirt cheap to insure and run and gain some experience but not exactly a thrill to drive. You could try get a cheap n/a starlet in same colour as your glanza and swap some bumpers, lights, etc over to make it a bit more interesting. Just an idea.

I was told the same thing and you would think if anyone might insure you it would be quinn direct but they didnt want to know so I had to forget about the idea till then.

mate i've got serious convictions and its 4k to insure a non turbo'd starlet! ... so F**k that no way, gunna wait till insurance comes down, for my first car ima get a impreza 1.6 GL FWD. Shit slow but could make it look like an sti (sti kit, world rally blue paint, gold wheels etc), like i say not the fastest thing, infact, probs realy slow but think what ya mates would be like if u pulled up in an STI!
... just dont be tempted to race them coz ya would probs get dusted off a corsa in something that heavy with a 1.6 engine! Good for getting experience though as the turbo won't rip your hands off if your in experienced like me! P.S, 28k per year for a Glanza V for me, hehe :rockon:Joe_GlanzaForged

I liked this idea but what happens if the police pull you over, check under the bonnet, and spot the turbo?
whatcha think they'd do mate? i assume do you for no insurance? or would the only way they would do something like this is if you bin your car and then they check it? bucketep91

its a really stupid thing to do m8, police arnt daft. if u get caught doing it u will be done for no insurance and ur carn will be taken off u and u will get a ban, is it worth it m8?

aye mate, 6k to insure it... tried a 1.8 4wd and its the same price as a 1.6... so i looked at a civic 1.5 ls VTEC, seem nippy with nice sound. 5.8k to insure the cunt

would'nt risk it anyways, thanks to this forum they talked me outa it. Don't wana get banned again, 2 years felt like a life time =/. Gunna stay legal and build up my no claims then get a Glanza V when the insurance is reasonable. Whatever car i get its guna be over 4k to insure, even a 1.0 corsa.. so just gotta save up my pennies! got an icer account with 4.8k in so far
