as they said the only way you can is if you say it non turbo other than that you payin crazy crazy money i am still on da r plates but mine is down as a non turbo and it 900 pounds wat is good but its the risk you take wen you bin your car and they dont pay out

to comment on the insuring a turbo car as a non turbo, you may aswell drive with no insurace as the insurace is void due to the car on the policey and the car you drive being in effect two different cars! i fucking hate people who try to cheat the insurance system! it is what it is so pay the premium or drive a different car, if some one hit my motor and had void/no insurance then i would beat the life out of them!!!! as i pay alot of money to insure a car i have spent alot of money on, last thing id ever want is to loose it all because some tight c**t didnt want to pay the premium for a high performance car they cant handle!!!!

@ stuarty1 - your a nob mate its not about the risk of loosing your car if you stack it, its the person whos car you hit not getting a payout and loosing there motor too! or worse you KILL SOME ONE! and the people they leave behind get no payout to help pay the costs for what you caused!

thats my 2p on the it.

well lads im from ireland and im 17 and on a learners permit (provesional licence)
I have recently bought a Glanza V... and wondering would i get insured in it if i go as a named driver on my fathers insurance?? how much roughly?? any help would be appreciated :)

Did you get any quotes then?

You do realise that they will insure you on it with a provisional, as you have to have someone with 3 yrs driving experience, over 21 in the car with you at all times.

And as soon as you pass your test and go to change the insurance over, they will politley ask you to bend over, (without lube) and give you a right good stuffing...

Edit - Im 20, had my glanza for a year, and its still costing me 1100quid!And at 18 i have a Rover 25 GTi VVC, that cost me 1700quid to insure,

Lads i know this is a insurance post on a Toyota forum but,

i was doing some research on civic's. There's loads of diffrerent ones, eg6, ek4, ek9, b16a, b16, VTI DOCH or SOCH etc etc..

Wtf do they all mean? and which is the best 1.4 or 1.6 civic to go for? 1.6 VTEC or?

any replies to this would be a massive help! cheers!

hello mate it depends....vti dohc is 1.6 vtec double-overhead cam a sohc is a single overhead cam, the dohc is quicker than a sohc, but also alot more to insure. they are all just different types of civic and engines mate, sorry thats not aload of help!
