Is fuel cut possible on a completely standard engine?

My bro recently got a glanza and he said to me that it was juddering the odd time. i thought at first it might have been ignition related ie the plugs or something because when i asked him if it was on or off boost he said off. But he just called me there saying he was heading down the Dual Carriageway in 4th/5th gear at bout 4500 revs and it happened again. Immediately i thought it was fuel cut as it is very cold here and it may be creeping but the setup is bog standard apart from the hi/lo solenoid bypass. not even a filter on it like. Im guessing tht the only solution is to port the wastegate? He had just ordered a TT Actuator and was going to up boost to 0.8 bar but sounds as though he has already been creeping to that lol Hes gonna check if the light on the dash comes on the next time it happens but after that what can he do to stop hitting fuel cut as its obv bad for the engine.?

cant tell by just guessing. at 4500rpm i wouldnt have thought it would creep much, especially when stock.

do a fault code check and fit a boost gauge.

I also hit fuel cut when its cold and all I have is a panel filter and I have also bypassed the boost restriction. . . that's it.

It's possible. I've seen a stock V hit fuelcut with just the hi/low bypass. Tell him not to be hitting it. Piston damage can result in the wrong circumstances.

I can hit fuel cut on low boost on a cold morning and I have a HKS filter and an exhaust...

Like they said...everyone is different

yes fuel cut can happen on a completely standard engine.

i havnt read the whole thread, but

if you have a filter and a cat back exhaust and a cold day, or evening, then there is every possibility it will happen.

it did with me, and countless other people

also if the hi/lo solenoid is bypassed they will also hit fuel cut when cold.

if you put the hi/lo back it hopefully should stop this from happening
