wouldn't hurt to get some bigger injectors too, and one of Toby's fuel rails.

the main reasons for that poor result are the cat and .8 bar boost.

at 1 bar you should be able to hit 200bhp with the mods already mentioned

thanks for the replys

ye met up with dave and he re calculated it,it came out at 172 bhp

bit better i suppose :)

Watch this space ;)

Been down to see Gav this afternoon, as soon as that filter is relocated, decat is on and the boost is up its going to be going very well indeed :).

Also had a look at the graph and calculated 17% transmission losses its now 172bhp :).

Dave

hey dave on all the dyno runs you can calculate the transmission loss and then add it back to ur bhp that u got ? and that would be ur final figure?

also gav at 0.8 bar u cant expect much bhp mate..boost is too low and ur restricted....hybrids can usually take 17 psi of boost...get it to that figure and u will see the gains..

That's a good figure for 0.8bar with the cat and EFI pipe on! I got 179.2 on a stock CT9a @ 1 bar, but then I'm running mesh off the filter, decat and a mani.

Get those items, run the boost at 1.1-1.2 bar (Something you can't do on a stock turbo) with the fueling sorted you'll be around 200-210bhp mark with good torque figures too.

Then you'll grin ;)

cant wait to see the 200 bhp mark

then that type R is having it

Also im going to smash the cat through rather than buyin a decat

Would this be ok ?

If your car was first used before Aug 01 '95 (Check the V5), go for it. It's not as good as getting a decat as the bends don't flow very well and it's heavy as hell, but it's a cheap alternative. If your car was was first used after Aug 01 '95, don't bother, you'll have to source another one come MOT time.

got another one mike, daves got one for me,for the mot

ENZO- yea im told its teh exact same one as tobys, cant say how much i payed though ;)

Will have a read through it now Monkfish

What mani would you recommend?

Monkfish-ill have that piping you were on about off the turbo :)

Got any pics of it

this thread does not belong in the chill out room when there is a rolling road section. Please be careful where you post :)

I've got Dave Burwash's £200 item at present, it's been on the car for, ooh, 9 months now I think. It's just starting to show signs of cracking on the centre welds, so I'd say it's got another 1000 or so miles in it.

As for the piping...

I'm not sure how much of that I still have. I know I've got the bend with the champher in it, but I don't know about the rest. I warn you though, it's a twat to get to stay onto the car. The bend fell off one time and I ran over it. Managed to straighten it out, but it's not perfect.

You're welcome to it though. :)

Nout.

It's of no use to me, so you can have it if you want. I'm keeping the filter though, it'll fit on the new car :p
