they are very slow compared to a quick starlet.

just cause its an auto/ na does mean it slow but doesnt mean its a rubbish car.

its perfectly useful for putting miles in,n comfort.

no it was 170bhp

ok well it didnt have much to live up to granted, but still the supra cant be much quicker than you starlet even if it was only running a ct9@a bar or something.

im pretty sure you havent weighed things up quite right.

parts for supras are insane. starlet parts really are cheap.

you thought the starlet parts were dear because you had to fork out for them, but the second you decide to turbo the supra and get it running any sort of serious power and you will need funds similar to that which a starlet costs to buy!!

i dont mean to laugh at you but seriously that car wont be easy on petrol and your going to need the guts of a grand to put four tires on her unless you plan to run in on budgets? even then you wont have change out of 500quid.

To begin with, those who knock autos, like I used to, dont have much experience driving them. Once you get used to them and get a well designed gearbox they can be great fun to drive :)

The wheels dont suit that car at all and ruin what would otherwise be a great looking car. Unless you can find invisible paint I dont think painting them is going to fix anything. A set of stock supra wheels would look much better imo.

N/A power from a supra is not blistering dude. You said that it was up at 100mph and you didnt even notice. The chrysler 300 I am driving at the moment does that, pretty much any machine with a big engine will give the same effect but the 300 is a boring heap of shite to drive, nice for motorway cruising though.

Ultimately your supra is better than my supra (I dont have one....yet) so enjoy it. But its like over here people buy the challenger with the v6 and for the whole time they have the car people will say "has it got the v8?" and then look on in a disappointed way when they hear it doesnt.

Best of luck with your new car, you own a piece of automotive history.

PS: stick to facts, a N/A supra is not going to wipe the floor with an EP that has the boost turned up a little. Parts for modifying the supra are not dirt cheap compared to those to modify a starlet. A 3ltr supra is not going to be very light on fuel.

That's rubbish lol sorry :p I've had plenty of experiences driving many different types of auto car. Even with a sophisticated box they are still crap to drive. The fun in driving to me is coming up through the gearbox, trying to get the perfect shift everytime, then coming down the box as you reduce your speed. To me thats proper driving! None of this just plant ya foot and let the car do everything, and downshifting with a tiptronic system is messsssy as hell.

In your opinion its rubbish. Ive slung a lambo and a f575 ferrari with tiptronic boxes around a ractrack and if you think that doesnt feel like "proper driving" then you are the one talking rubbish.

Would you not agree though, GV, that those Iti's you've praised, are essentially manuals with electronic shifters and clutches?

An old school auto is just not inspiring enough to be a hoon to drive, imo.

I'm yet to be sold on this.

You're essentially driving around in a GLi Starlet, instead of a GT.

Your 82 was mint, aswell.

I think you've lost it, lol.
