Lower Arm Bar some info please

Out of interest, which lower arm bar will give the best clearance (from the exhaust, not the ground)?

I reckong it'll be the Cusco, but I've just had to remove my Whiteline item as its hitting the exhaust far too much :(

Any suggestions?

Thanks folks

Dave

Dave I found the cusco and UR bars give about the same amount of clearance, no experience with whiteline sorry. (bit of heat wrap could sort it ?)

Brilliant folks :D

I might order a Whiteline one then, is there any drilling etc required to fit the rear mounts Toby? How much are they coming in at and when will you be open to place an order again? (I miss my lower arm bar sorely!)

As for the clearance (of the exhaust) issue... :( It was pushing against the Whiteline item (its shape encourages better road, rather than exhaust clearance) so hard it was stressing the manifold and so on... I had it removed when I was fitting the SPS item but the car doesn't feel the same :)

Thanks guys

Dave

I'm fairly sure I've got TRD ones, was in the list of mods when I got the car :)

My old lower arm bar used to be close, but wouldn't hit, It looked like a TOM's red kind of colour, but I'm not sure, it was caught by a stone and bent beyond all use :( I though it could have been a Cusco one though.

The whiteline item must be a less exhaust friendly shape.

thanks for the info though :)

Yeah I destroyed two Cusco ones but I did have 14's at the time lowered on Flexes so it was only an inch of the ground, any time I went over a crappy road it would create sparks poor bloody thing. I just personally prefer the UR as it's four points as opposed to two so it's always going to be more structurally rigid than a two point.

Stiffness for the win!

My car was imported with a cusco fitted which decided to developed a flexible joint in the middle (v dangerous and I'm glad I spotted it) v happy with the UR one now.

Yeah the Cuscos are surprising hollow and very light, it has better weight saving advantages but would hazard a guess that it's quite a lot weaker in general simply as there is less material and it's only a two point.

Can anyone confirm whether the UR 4point brace requires drilling or any kind of modification to the car to fit?

straight fit 4 bolts and your away, could need a slight bit of encouragement as its a bit tight around the side if this...

As said dave - straight bolt on, 4 bolts, however the original bolts are on very tight.

edited and updated to keep you happy GTdan :p

:) thank you - there two seperate products entirely - like getting a tyre and exhaust mixed, well maybe not so different lol.
