Just done a head gasket for a mate in his glanza .. Before he gave it to me it had overheated and smokey . Now I have it all done . Head skimmed etc .. It's smokey when I come off boost . So that's the oil desk in the turbo gone .. But when I first put it back together it had a misfire when building boost . So I move the distributor towards the bulkhead , twisted it clockwise . Not sure if that's retarding or advancing the timing but it ironed it out .. No my question is what is the recommended igniyion timing point ? ... Anybody ever have this problem before ? .. It never miss fired until I changed the gasket , he supplied me with a 1.9 mm Athena gasket which I think is very thick . Considering standard is 1.2..would the thickness of the gasket induce this misfire ? ... Also it's driving but feels like its fuelling wrong n slightly hesitating . And not as fast as before . Should I get out a timing gun n reset the timing .. Any suggestions appreciated ..
