Dont think it will happen, all manufactures hks/ blitz, they exhaust would be illegal and only for off road use only. Thats a big change!

Just spoken to an MOT tester at my dads garage, and the notice came out about 6 weeks ago. He confirmed that anything noisier than standard is an MOT fail! :shoot:

i work at an mot station and i havent had any notice recieved as of late...

no special notices there either..

so who knows wats going on

im pretty sure the tester could always fail a car if he belived it to be too loud.

Weird, the person i heard it from said they only recieved the notice today, but when i spoke to the MOT tester i know they said they got it 6 weeks ago

Not evry has they stand exhaust to hand, plus the hassle of swopping them over. If the vosa do go ahead, the feds will be more cocky when you have a loud exhaust, force you take it off.

its actually impossible for me to have a standard exhaust put back on.. looks like im fucked.

relax chaps, we can live through this. my 4wd has a really long custom exhaust that ends in a baffled large silencer at the back. it is totally silent with the back box on. however i can take the back box off and put on a wee end pipe instead for quarter mile.

rolling roaded with back box(totallly silent) 193bhp
rolling roaded without (loud as fuck) 209bhp

my point is its still really quick with the back box on and more of a sleeper.

With my Paseo my new exhaust is welded just after the cat as the standard system is a daft (one piece of pipe goes all the way from the exhaust mani to the backbox) so would have to actually cut the new system off to put a standard one back on..........

Hope this isn't the case

Exhaust manufacturers will start going out of busines if this happens too I would think...?

TBH it won't be enforced as strict as VOSA will want. It can't be. How about special edition cars which come with exhausts as factory standard. Take the Nurburgring Astra VXR for example. It will sound different/louder than a normal Astra VXR. Does this mean it will fail? Same story with an M3 and an M3 CSL and loads of other cars.

do you meant its bollocks that they have brought it in, or it isnt true? Ive put the scan up and spoken to two seperate people who have seen it so its very true
