hey jay, thers no performance figures on the glanza link, is this the top model in terms of speed?

The factory figures never changed over all the model years from 1989 right through to 1999, I have the full range of model brochures and can confirm this.

which is right? im not obsessed with the speed but i always like to have the best model available.

a gt is a tiny bit lighter than a glanza

you wouldnt notice it if you was on the road side by side in either

as for which 1 to choose its up to you to choose which shape you prefer

evo sounds mean, impreza sounds mean , starlet sounds like a girls car , you have to admit it, and going by the members names quite a few girls do drive them aswell.
honest question do you mostly remove the word starlet from the back of the car once you have 1?

my neighbours is rounded at the back rather than angular, does this help as to what model it is, id ask my neighbour but ive ribbed him about it for so long ill already be eating humble pie once ive got one on my drive

A good question - and a common talking point.

It's often regarded as 6.9secs through myth and legend but the brochure book times are 8.2secs.

The chief engineer of the EP82 states the true time as 6.9 in a magazine interview and people usually take it that Toyota were being conservative in their book times. Given that this 8.2sec covered automatic and fully loaded models I'd hazard a guess they are right.

A japanese car magazine (Motorfan) independently roadtested the GT in 1990 and found a stock example put down a 7.09 time with a 15.27 quartermile.

No but we put big badges saying dusted by a 1.3 on

toyota make a reliable car so it will probably take a beating as well. my renault gt turbo is fine always has been but ive heard so many bad stories about the engine going pop, i dont really drive fast in it, if i want to go fast i take my wifes colt czt and hoof that without her knowing.

Yup the majority of people don't realise how quick our little cars are, I'm sure the big bhp boys will vouch on this, that you get all sorts trying to beat you off the line, on motorways etc, its easier to just not rise to it and be content that you could muller them without even trying
