new mod recommended?

Hope this wasnt directed at me.haha. There is different mods for different sections so yes I may not know about the car but I do know about computers which is why im moderating the IT forum and dont have control over the other forums.

Maybe we could introduce some process of members being voted in and labelled as a 'Technical Guru''.

If you read a post from a member that has a 'Technical Guru' status then you know that particular member knows what they are talking about.

hmm that is a pretty good idea, as there is a lot of bad advice being given out.


as for the mods, i think they all do a spiffing job.

and i agree hardcoreep is extremely knowledgable (spelling) but doesnt seem to come online that often. and so i agree with dylans point.

I still think the feedback "score" idea that some forums have is good.

Like, you can press + or - on each post a person makes, which gives them a feedback score, you can go off of that for how good their advice is.

was just going to suggest the same although the feedback itself would have to be reasoned and monitored as some members might deliberatly try make others look bad.

The board does have the feedback facility but we never started using it as the swap over from the old board was such a hurried mess.

I'll look into it.
