Yeah, try breaking into someone's home in America, good luck. Too many fucking weirdo's around these days from junkies, to general scumbags. Far too many spongers and low life, fuck I pay some amount of bills etc, to have some pikey bastid raiding your home, they deserve what they get.
The politics and some of the laws in this country are pure balls.

Its no more than instinct to protect your family. I see shit on crimewatch of guys breaking in and raping pregnant women. Id rather chance putting someone in a coma than chance the other terrible shit.

Sit and have a little chat to find out just what his intentions are and the reasons for being in your house with your loved ones in the middle of the night? I don't care who you are, in a situation like a break in/home invasion and you confront the culprit, it fight or flight. You either submit to the robber and prays he only takes your stuff (food in this case it seems) or you strike premptively to neutralize the threat. Come on! There's someone in your home who is not supposed to be there! Fight or flight.

I'm not questioning anyones right to protect their loved ones, merely having a poke at the people who have gone into such detail about how they'd off someone. I know everyones joking, but its just funny!
If someone broke into my house I wouldn't automatically think "yeah, lets kill this mofo!" lol Sure, I'd make stop them doing whatever they are doing using force, plenty different to killing a person though! lol

There is other means for that 15 year old to get food and shelter. But if they tried to steal from my property i would put an end to them. Taking his/her life might save someone elses in the future.

I thing we're talking about two different things here. I have no issue with using reasonable force in defence if the need be, but i wouldn't condone the lynch mob on here who think the intruder should be killed. My point was; would you feel happy killing someone who just needed food?

how? your stopping them from carrying out future acts of robbery, they rob an old person and they are that frightened they take a heart attack and die, nipping it in the bud stops it happening again

People arent thieving for food though are they, they're nicking your cars for a joyride or your TV for drugs money. These wankers don't care about you or your stuff, and deserve everything they get. Get them out the gene pool - bring back the death penalty or at least realistic punishments

I can understand why you're having an issue with those you are saying outright they will kill anyone or any robber they find in their home, but be honest, ignore the "kill and bury in the backyard" posts. Those replys are based on the fact that in the UK you will get into more trouble defending yourself from an intruder in your own home than the robber will for being there in the first place. I still say that for anyone who finds themselves in that situation the natural reaction is either "fight or flight". As ChrisGT said, you may not think "kill him" but you will use force in that situation to subdue or neutralize what at the time is a threat. If you don't fight, you will submit, let whatever happens happen and hope for the best. Even if after you beat the intruder senseless you find out it's a 15 year old hungry homeless kid, the beating at the time would have been your automatic reaction to an unknown threat to yourself and your loved ones. If you chose "flight" and escape/do nothing and then you and your family endure the ordeal, whatever happens next or whatever the hungry kid chose to do you or your family is now out of your control. You may regret your decision either which way afterwards but whatever your choice was...to fight, or to flee/submit...you only did what was natural in the end.

ROFL, I have never ever heard of someone breaking into a house to steal food. They steal your expensive tech goods to sell for cash, cash converters, or to buy smack.
I have people driving up in a van to check out the house, and then pretend to see if anyone wanted to buy tools, oh and do you have any copper lying around? No fuck off. They ring the doorbell just to make sure no one is in first though.
In the middle east you lose a hand for stealing food. No crime over there.
