your very wrong there... If your car is set up to run a particular set up and you dramatically change the exhaust then it is very possible to creep due to this... i.e exactly what happened to my car..... Was absolutely fine for 8 months holding around 1bar boost then the split second i change to the front exit started creeping to 1.25BAR....... which was bigger and much shorter with no backbox. It freed up the system causing the exhaust gasses to increase pace and spool that turbo more then it should and also has reduced lag by plenty.. turbo spools now 500RPM quicker...
Now starts spooling at 2100RPM and hits 1bar by 2800RPM...
yeh its a wastegate issue, you even said it yourself in a later post. your boost may increase or decrease if you change your exhaust, yes. but if it creeps (creep meaning the boost keeps rasing uncontrollably with rpm) as well its a wastegate problem, ie too small.
so yeh you could run 4" exhaust on your ct9. (even tho that would be kinda retarded) with the correct wastegate setup it wont creep.
