Hi Chris,

the reason you were asked to call back nearer the time is that insurance rates change on a regular basis. We could offer you a price now which could have gone up (or down!) by a few hundred quid in a months time, which isn't much help to you.

You are quite welcome to give me your name etc by PM and I can get you a call back, but bare in mind that the rate may change significantly by the time you need to take the policy up...

Hi there,

Only just signed up on the new forums, was a member from years back!

I just spoke to Sky insurance and one of your advisors told me they couldn't quote me on a Starlet with only having my licence a few months... Is this correct?

If you could better the Bell.co.uk quote I have you would have my business :)

If you could get back to me Ollie that would be great!

Cheers

So can sky pretty much cover all mods?

Im currently with Admiral, who to be fair are pretty cheap. However i know they dont like things like front mount intercoolers (not even an option!) etc so when i mod my car further this will be a problem!

Sometime next year i plan to be running a 1.5 with somewhere in the region of 250bhp, is this something sky are likely to be able to cover?

I know HIC were brilliant for mods - not done on mods but how much power increase, but they dont cover jap imports competitivelyly until 25! (mind you thats only a year away :( )

I'd be interested with regards to mods too. Currently being with Bell, I find it a bit of a piss take that you pay a higher premium for mods, but they aren't actually covered in the event of a claim.

I'll be giving you guys a ring tommorow anyway, as if I want to switch insurers I have about one and a half weeks to do so before the next directdebit payment is taken by Bell.

Edit : Just seen your website lists "Like for Like Modification Cover" and "Agreed Value Policies".
Hopefully I'll get a decent quote as that is exactly what I'd be looking for on the policy :D

Hi,

just to confirm, we are modification friendly. Unfortunately we have put a hold on the agreed valuations unless you are an existing customer, we are looking at bringing this back for 2008. Modifications are indeed covered on a like for like basis :)

Any questions please give me a shout!

Cheers

The main reason for that is most likely your Oldham postcode.
Insurance companies do not like it!

Does sky cover northern ireland ollie?

Sorry dude, we dont... There must be a few of you GT owners out there, I saw a couple on my last visit ( I have family in Bangor) and I've been asked by a few club members.

Sorry :(

I sadly didn't fare much better today either - got quoted £1400+ f/c :(
Guess I will have to do as I was politely told - "try again next year".
