Hi Guys/Girls,

I really want a Glanza, but I need convincing. So now is your chance too no just convince me, but any other potential Starlet buyer. A list of Good points and Bad points about them would be good, and anything else you guys can think of, like fuel efficiency, comfort, reliability etc etc.

Thanks Guys

Looking forward to some replies!

doesnt make sense to me,and you shouldnt need convincing if you want to get one.

actually i owned my first gt back in 99 mate. i will say in the glanzas defence the first time i saw one it was a silver one in belfast. it pulled up at the lights with its wee foglights turned on. did think o my god thats amazing. this must have been about 2002 or so. they were selling over here for 10,000 quid at the time!

I remember the days.. I got mine for 11k back in the day.

Sheesh, I hope some of the GT/Glanza comparison things in here are jokes!

Everyone knows GT's are better :p

Seriously though, its 6 and half a dozen.

Gt owners always have a knife in their side about glanzas, its mainly due to the fact that most of them can't afford a glanza.

I know this from experiance as my first starlet was a gt, was a nice car and I don't disrespect them at all. But in terms of looks, the glanza looks way better. If you secure in yourself by calling the glanza "girly" or a "micra", then your just being stupid. The gt is a nice looker car and perhaps does look more "aggressive" if you like, but you can't hide from the fact that it looks awfully dated.

The performance of a gt and glanza are exactly the same, owning both I know this. Boost restriction is a welcome modification on the glanza, stops my tyres getting shredded too early and if I wanna change it it takes too seconds.

Interior is FAR nicer in a glanza.

Lol, thats a bit petty! I could say the same as the Glanza is a bit girly...

Poor arguement at the start, and the latter is subjective.

Its all down to taste, I paid more for my GT, and chose it over a black Glanza from a digraced trader on here (which cost less than my GT), than many Glanza's go for. I'd not personally have a Glanza, as I prefer the look of the GT, but its all personal taste.

If you take a GOOD GT and a GOOD Glanza, the price difference is minimal these days, and the cars are 6 and half a dozen (the same).

Its silly to make comparisons on a general level, and state your own opinion as fact

I guess this is my opinion, but its a bit less harsh, and a bit more accurate than yours I think

cameroon95 you worded that wrong you mean "in your opinion they look better" it isnt a fact :p

Banter aside i love both cars but i didnt get a GT coz it was cheaper as i had the money to get a glanza if i wanted i just prefer the look of a GT over a glanza. Its a more aggresive look, and if some ppl think its "dated" then fair enough but i love other cars what ppl would class as dated too, delta intergrale, pulsar GTiR, metro 6r4 etc id have any of those over something equally powered and priced but newer looking. thats just my opinion.

only thing i dont like about glanzas as round in my area they are the car/shape that all the wrong minded ppl buy. I think they prefer the curvier shape too.

Im not being harsh mate, your just too sensitive:cool:

The fact of the matter IS than glanzas are more expensive than gts, if you think im wrong then you should check the market. Yes some gts are more expensive but thats in the minority. 98 glanzas go for far more than a 93/94 gt.

I never said my opinion was fact, I just think the interior is far nicer, the gt stock interior is pretty bad, you must slightly agree with me here?

i like my interior , u do know the interiors differ slightly on each mark of gt model. For example bens mk1 gt has different colour/pattern than my mk2 one? i prefer my interior over his anyday.

I agree too actually

Doesn't sound an opinion to me :haha:

You'll find the price difference is either because they need an SVA, are newer, have less miles and so on. Not simply because its a Glanza

Comparing two different things there mate...

Anyway, LOL, I'm not getting dragged into this

yup its not as nice as some, but its still a darn sight better than the grey glanzas insides, it doesnt even slightly resemble a hot hatch?

imo

Ok, i can see we're gonna have to agree to disagree here. Apologies if I didnt say IMO when I stated somethign, but you guys knew what i ment.

But I seriously cannot see how you like the interior of a gt over a 98 glanza, seems ridiculous to me but I guess its down to taste.

Fot the record, glanza owners always get little snide comments thrown to them from gt owners on this site, so If i was a little hasty in my argument then thats the reason.

Can you reword that a bit better mate, the grey interior in a glanza you mean? Mine is black with blue and red, with grey dash etc

Why would the interior stop it being a hot hatch?

I see where you're coming from, I think it goes both ways personally :)

I think the rivalry is petty though (from both parties, and not personally at you!) They're essentially the same car. Better in some areas, and worse in some areas than each other.

We're all one big happy family though, right?

Agreed, they both have their good and bad points definately. Just wish people would acknowledge this more.:teach:
