Starlets running above 300hp! How many secs 0-60!

haha, nothing wrong with wanting to find out what the possible 0-60 times are....jeez,no one is comparing cocks but if thats your thing:kiss::haha:

its just to get a rough idea of what is achievable....i myself don't even own one but would still like to know what kind of performance these cars can do.fact is the 0-60 times gives a good idea of the cars acceleration and like i said around these parts where the roads are twisty that is vital.so if i know my future starlet with roughly x amount of power is good for say 6 secs to 60 then i know with a good suspension set up it should be pretty handy when i want to get spririted with my driving.

my main reason for asking was really for the benefit of how much quicker the car becomes when you increase power.for instance,if the std strarlet is good for 7 sec to 60 and you only manage to get 6.5 sec to 60 after increasing the power to 230bhp then that wouldn't be a great gain in my opinion.like i said,i was wanting to see what was achievable as a performance increase.

paul_jj has clearly never owned a high powered starlet lol

Having owned a high powered one i can clearly say even over 250horse in fwd car is more than useful. In dry mine would only break traction in second third onwards you had to hold on (td05 at 1.5bar)

and hey guess what thats with NO diff and still puts power down.

but like most say who cares about 0-60 a mean even if a car is say 6.2 seconds and another is 6.7seconds on the road how much further will one be ahead half a car :S.

When ever ive raced it hasnt been to 60 and then stopped its been from 60 mph like most races i.e round a track your taking corners at 60 and pumping it down the straight.

0-60 is just like bhp just damm right pub talk and trying to see who has biggest penis

You are right! And never will! I don't plan to go over 200 bhp on my Glanza, I don't even want to get rid of the AC and I find standard seats pretty comfortable, and I don't want to lower it on the coilovers so I will jump on every pothole (and we have probably a billion of them in the UK) - everyone is an individual and got their own taste! Just like the woman!
If I would want more acceleration than a 200 bhp Glanza, than I would go for a bigger car!

But please don't get me wrong I like my Glanza, I use it as a daily driver and I don't plan to go on the track, but can try a drag race a few times to see how it performs!

i've seen around 220 bhp starlets and that is way too fast for a starlet in my opinion, no grip in first and second, wheels up the air all the time, no safety features whatsoever, air bag was taken off, on some cars sway bars were taking off, and what's the most incredible think about all that is that everyone runs that sort of power on the standard brakes!!!

I think in the UK 0-60 times are the most important because you can't really do more than 60 mph on the road in town and sometimes 70 mhp on the motorway/dual carriage way assuming you have no heavy traffic, then you will only do about 30 mph!

So either you take the car on the track/drag or you brake the law and experience over 70 mph speed on the UK roads. IT would've been completely different talks if we all lived in Germany with their Autobahns and no speed limits!

For a road car I think there can be a point to a good 0-60 or maybe thats 0-45 , we seem to be getting vw golf tdi in plague proportions in Sydney that lurch from lane to lane erratically, as long as I can stay infront of them driving is much safer.

Ahh the open road ----- Like wise 60-80 is a critical bit of kit on the open road.
We have a lower speed for trucks ( 62.1mph ) but they convoy together especially at night usually around 68.3mph . The roads are 2 and one lane wide so small cars have to be able to keep clear or be sandwiched between multiple rigs. My objective is enough power to change back to 3rd at 68mph (with road torque reduced due to auto box diff ratio) and get myself out of trouble especially on a steep grade where the trucks tend to overtake each other and are not happy if you are in the way.

before i bought my starlet, all i heard was lag, wheelspin etc etc, and it was an opinion i had myself. see once i got it, i couldnt believe how well it put the power down, and it made a fool of some much bigger, more powerfull 4wd cars.

i think the only way to change people's minds/opinions on these little cars, is to take them a run in them, to see how good they really are.

totally agree with scott here lol

unless you have owned/been in one then you cant comment on how they deliver power or how laggy they are
