LOL... Be clearer man!!!

Sorry man!, The 3SGTE engines are easy to work on, and id imagine even easier in the front of a car.

I had to change all coolant pipes, boost, and various others on one the other day on scooby turbo.. Bugger me it did take all day. Had to take off the Manifold to get to change one pipe! and every pipe was a whore.

Put me right off them!

i was also thinking of the mitsibushi legnum.

I've been looking at these - the Legnum VR4, I wanted something cheap for towing with a potential fun factor and alot of car for the money.

They are just that.

Triptronic gearboxes can have a torque converter seal leaking, which requires alot of work to sort out as you need to remove the gearbox - they also don't like to tow. Manual versions are a little harder to find but you don't have these problems.

Maintainence, well what do you expect for 2.5l twin turbo, lots of oil to replace but from what I've heard these are reasonably reliable cars. If you want to find out more go to www.clubvr4.co.uk.

MPG = rubbish, 17MPG on automatics, some people report up to 25MPG with the manual.

All manual version regardless of year are 280BHP, automatic versions pre face lift (I think post 1997 is face lift) are 260BHP, automatics after face lift are 280BHP like the manual.

All of the cars have AYC and goodies (The evo handling magic), apart from the Type-V model.

I think they look great for an estate, they weight just over 1500KG which isn't much more than your modern impreza saloon.

for the money these are very hard to beat! (although Im sure Deano will find something negative to say about them)

Camskill do basic parts, other than that it's dealer/breaking or through the club.

It's not really the sort of car I'd modify to be honest.

depends what you are looking for I guess. Of course it wont be slow but the styling looks dated to me and having seen a standard one as a taxi in Dublin it just looked crap in my opinion. I think the legnum wagon looks great... so aggressive.

As for the B4... deffinately in a different class.. when you sit in it it feels like a high end car. The caldina looks dated to me and looks like a bit of an old corolla interior or something.

No more than I would compare my glanza to a imprezza or even a type R integra for build quality and interior would I compare a caldina to a B4.

The OP was looking for some honest feedback and with Deano you get a totally one sided spouting.

For the money I would go for a legnum... they are cheap as anything in the UK. For comfort, handling and a big pull of power the B4 is really tasty. For reliability and ease of getting engine parts I would imagine the caldina would be a good bet.

Luke showed me some seriously cheap VR4's recently... well worth looking at IMO.
