full throttle shifts don't stop lag if once you let the clutch back out the revs are too low. And you'd need proper anti-lag with an injector going into the turbo hotside.
10k+ has been done before and i am pretty sure autofixed used to offer a 12k revving forged rebuild. As for being mad, am i the one wanting a td06 on a 1.3???

Everyone knows what happens to 3rd gear when you flat shift...BOOM!

Nothing wrong with having a big turbo, it all depends on your application! If you want a straight line or QTR warrior then fair do's!

But for everyday driving, there are many scenario's when it is going to be a proper ball ache.

If it is not going to be on a street car anyway, then there is no issue I guess.

Ignore the 12K stuff mate, never happened or was proved. Do you know how much research/work would need to be done mate?

Trust me, it would not happen.

i flatshifted without loosing boost when dragging....

I would say a TD06 is more acheviable than a 12k revving 4E lol...mines a drag car...so it dont matter about lag :)

Thats because you don't drop below boost rpm but a bigger turbo would. Not to mention when putting out that much power a full throttle shift will probably just cause you to loose traction on a fwd car. In fact a drag radials are gonna be required and probably custom drive shafts and a straigh cut gear set, otherwise the box will just blow. High revving engine makes more sence as you will be able to control whats going on better and it is easily achievable just requires some expensive mods.

yeah mosts probs will break shafts and gearboxs...but its alot cheaper to buy 10 sets of standard shafts and a couple of boxes to change when it goes wrong instead of spending 3.5k plus on that lot imo :)

if you build ur engine rite the power/response will come...i've got a td05 16g with the evo3 small compressor wheel and td05h turbine in a 8cm2 housing (stock td04l from the subaru is 7cm2) with my 264cams it spools like lightning and it isnt the common wrx td05

once your exhaust housing isnt very big then you can get away with it even if the compressor side is huge which is exactly what toby's turbo is

not a bad choice as you know its proven and gives amazing power for such a small size

hope u get a good engine management to take full advantage
