the difference between toyota valve stem seals

I was always told intake seals were brown (source was Wee John) and the exhaust were dark grey. Did a bit of digging on it last year to find there is a difference in the two seals that will make a difference to lifespan. They are made of different materials.

The brown ones contain nitrile with is fine for intake temps and offers more flexibility (more reliable seal) but the exhaust ones are a different material (can't remember it off the top of my head) which can handle the more extreme heat of the exhaust side. This means that using the exhaust ones on the inlet shouldn't throw up any issues but using intake seals on the exhaust side might result in shorter lifespan as they can't take the heat cycles.

I noticed Toyota have changed the brown ones to a light grey in the last genuine gasket kit I bought, not sure what they are made from now. Pretty sure there is a dimensional difference that gives the two types away as well but I'd need to go check.
